she walked onto the veranda, as softly as the breeze that caressed her silken gown...
as she looked up at the summer moon, I thought I saw a glisten of tears in her eyes...a deep sigh escaped her lips as she hung her head and cried. I tried to move towards her...to hold her to my breast, and realized with deep regret...my body'd been laid to rest. of all the pain I'd known in life, none ranked with this despair...knowing I couldn't touch her, or my, mistakes, repair. awakened now...at home, in bed...soaked in sweat and tears... glad to know 'twas just a dream, but still I'm racked with fears. afraid that I might live this life, and find out in the end... I missed the chance to touch the one, who'd join me round the bend.. round the bend we face...as this life closes...and eternity begins |
