Sorry if i burst any bubbles here.. To be Irish, you need to have been BORN in Ireland. To be Scottish, you need to have been BORN in Scotland. You can be of Irish or Scottish HERITAGE, absolutely, but, when it comes down to it most people here are as Irish or Scottish as Nelson Mandela.

Sometimes people are born in the wrong time period and sometimes people are born in the wrong place. Still Irish even though I reside in USA.

My grandparents on both sides came from Ireland and I was apart of the McElligot School of Irish Step Dancing for 3 years! SO HA!

My mother's father immigrated to the US from Ireland. My mom is currently living in Ireland and as far as I know sought citizenship foreign born. Is that enough irish for ya, Dan?
