(i apologize in advance that this is so lengthy)

Ok lookit...

I bought myself a cell phone just before christmas. A few weeks later the phone becomes faulty. I took it back into the mobile phone store and was told i had to take it in to be repaired, not exchanged, but repaired, and it would take up to 5 weeks by which time i will recieve a call to come pick it up, in the meantime i was given a temporary phone on which i could make and receive calls and little else (none of the features of the phone i bought).

I took it in to be repaired twice.

The first time, it came back with the same fault reoccurring the same day i took it home.

The second time, i never saw my phone again.

After months (4 to be exact) of walking into the store to politely ask about the status of my phone i am told on each occasion by the girl at the front desk that it is "probably" still being fixed and i should just keep waiting. She made little effort to look into the status, why it was taking so long and at what point i could expect my cell phone back.

I finally decide to lodge a complaint elsewhere within the company. The lady i spoke to about the matter looked into it and found out that my phone had been lost 3 months prior.

The resolution she offered was simply to replace the phone which they lost with another phone of similar price (they no longer stock the type of phone)

What would you do? Would you accept that as a satisfactory resolution to the entire ordeal?

I would insist on being reimbursed for the 4 mos of phone service since you obviously didn't get what you paid for...

Actually the entire situation lasted 6 months... the 4 months was just how long the second attempt at repair took.

And that's what i thought too ohwell it didn't seem fair to me...

She suggested you replace the phone with a similar one? Did she also suggest that THEY'D be paying for this second phone?

And I agree, you should be getting some type of $ credit on your acct for the time you spent without the phone, using one that didn't have the features you wanted.

firstly i`d never have got in that situation as after 5 weeks i would have stood in the store and refused to leave without my phone.

secondly, the store value you as a contract holder on their network, so much so that you can easily get a BETTER phone with a simple demand and a scoul, teamed with a threat to leave their network.
they want as many people on their network as pos, so a few $ is nothing to keep you on.

i'm not. they are offering to replace it with another phone. i'm not paying anything... unless i go over the price of the original phone when i make my choice... in which case i have to pay the difference.

Morning girl,
I beleive that after a reasonable amount of time(1 month only)I would have been pulling my hair by then !!

Then I would have demanded a replacement by that time, if it had not been resolved!!

But by waiting as long as you did...I beleive I would have just gave them the , and told them to put that where the sun don't shine!

Then look for another cell provider, and lived happily ever-after!
