Topic: a rather "weighty" issue | |

so few the past few days between my suicidal friend and my pregnant best friend, ive had a few days to think and ponder, that's very dangerous!
i found out last year i have ovarian cyst and missed my period for 5 months and i have a bad thyroid and it really messes with my weight anyway.when o talk to my grandmother about the depression i get from having cyst she seems to always tell me that i wont be ever able to make it down to a certain weight and tonight my grandfather said he was looking into getting a scooter and he told me i cant ride it b.c of weight limits and i told him i wasn't planning to ride it.i can walk and move around just fine!and its not like i walk around breaking furniture either! my grandparents aren't small or anything the both of them used to be really large people.i mean do ex-fat people get judgmental against other fat people?i know that sounds funny and or stupid but i cant help to wonder that! sorry its soo long but it was either write this or cry!lol |

I guess the tendacy would be to become judgemental, "after all if I can do it" thinking. Sorry for the rough time of it. Are you ok with yourself is the better question. That way if not, you have only yourself to blame or be happy with!

Bee don't do something stupid like taking all your meds...stop thinking like that!! Some former fatties do become judgmental and forget that they were once overweight. My grandmother used to get on my case when she was alive and she said "I would NEVER become fat like that!!" Then I would go and get the pictures we have of her when she weighed more than I was at the time....she got the point.

It sucks you're going through this ordeal. People tend to make fun/be insensitive to what they don't understand. Even if they've been through the same thing, being overweight for example, they intend to forget what it was like. Remember, you are your own worst enemy and only you can choose to believe what they say. Words can hurt, but you're a stronger person. I hope everything goes ok with your friends & I hope you feel better! Please remember you are a beautiful person, in and out. |

I hope that is just a feeling!!! If so it too shall pass! Hang in there, we too shall one day be old and say the first thing that pops into our heads! Keep looking for the positive! Harder to find but more worth the effort!

Don't you take medication for your thyroid? My mom does. I do wonder if they say something about your weight because maybe they don't want you to get heavy like they did. |

So I'm going to assume that you can't get the cyst removed due to the lack of insurance. Otherwise, I don't see any reason a person would continue in pain with a cyst on their ovary... I've had cysts in, on my ovaries and my tubes, I've gotten surgery and felt way better... I have a torn disc in my back and some other health issues but I refuse to let them win.. I work my azz of every day and work out.. I have an employee with thyroid issues, she takes her pills every day and comes to work every day and works her azz off.. Maybe they feel you're using those things as a crutch/excuse...

yes i take meds for my thyroid and cyst i know they dont want me to get heavy and all but telling me that i wont make it below a certain wait or reminding things have weight limits doesnt help!

that's not cool but they're old and old people say things kind of like little kids do as they see them.. My grams used to always tell me what gifts my uncle bought her or so and so to make sure she got better gifts from me and she did the same to them.. I think she was a spit fire and loved her to death but sometimes she said things that weren't the sweetest in the world...

If you're still having thyroid problems, you are probably not on the correct medication or dosage. What your grandmother said doesn't help but what your grandfather is saying...he's giving you a message, IMO. Maybe that's the only way he knows how. |

my gyno said they are too small to get removed so rather then taking them out i get to be in pain all day and work my azz off to try and loose a half a pound!so i sit in constant pain and even had one burst a few days ago and yet i cant get them removed~!and im not using it as an excuse i eat right and exercise and work hard but telling them what my cyst do and dont do doesnt work!

Bee they've probably been through, seen and experienced their own pains so they may not see it as a debilitiating thing... Some don't get it until they experience it for themselves... I never understood my mom's back issues until I experienced them myself but I still won't let my back stop me from living my life and working out.. I hope you get rid of the cysts soon...

i want them removed i mean what to i half to do but my doctor in a headlock and make him take it out!lol but i do have an awesome gyno doctor!but i mean i tell them almost daily im in pain and give them articles and its like one ear and out of the other!
im still going to continue to loose weight but what they say and how they say it does hurt |
|
|
|
just try to understand that they may not understand they're hurting you and like Winx said they're probably just concerned about you.. Not everyone knows how to be empathetic....

Sorry things are going this way for you.I have a bad thyroid to.Docters won't treat me.They say the cure is sometimes worse than the problem. As for the cyst.I would look into another doc if that is possible. On the weight issue,Don't let anybody slam you.If you like yourself, and are happy.Just blow them off.You know what you need to do.Sounds like your trying to lose the weight.
Best of luck to you. j.m.o |

wolfchic is right and well I see your pic it's not like you're obese, so I'm not sure what's the big deal.. most of us could use to lose a few pounds.. You want to and are trying so that's a start and the important thing...
