Thank you so very much Rapunzel for starting this thread. You've no idea how much it meant to me to see this...today especially. I grew up as a military 'brat.' Men & women on both sides of my family have served in one branch or another for generations. I am very proud of all of the brave heros in my family, our close family friends in service, and all of our blessed troops in general. I have been a military wife, and still have many, many loved family and friends deployed at this very time that I pray for daily. Since 2001, I have personally lost 8 dear and beloved friends and family to this war. In fact, I attended the funeral of a very beloved and close family friend (my brother for all intents and purposes) this week actually.

So many people do not truly understand the toll it takes on our soldiers...and their families. We should always remember to support them in any and all ways possible, thank them and show our deepest gratitude for what they have done or are doing. No act of kindness toward them is ever gone unnoticed...believe that! Thank you again, dear sister!
Glorious, Almighty, Father in Heaven... Please protect our troops at home and abroad now and forever. Bring them all safely home to their families and friends. Please bring the Comforter to all of our soldiers and their loved ones at home to give them Your peace and ease their pain from separation, worry, and grief. Lord, let our troops' transition back into society upon their return go smoothly and flawlessly. Father, please let them find nothing but love, joy, compassion, patience, and tolerance in the people that they encounter after returning home. I pray for ultimate healing, be it physical or emotional, on all troops and their cherished ones. May the sacred blood of our Saviour be upon them all! In Jesus' name, I pray. AMEN!!

When a soldier comes home, he finds it hard.... ...to listen to his son whine about being bored. ...to keep a straight face when people complain about potholes. ...to be tolerant of people who complain about the hassle of getting ready for work. ...to be understanding when a co-worker complains about a bad night's sleep. ...to be silent when people pray to God for a new car. ...to control his panic when his wife tells him he needs to drive slower. ...to be compassionate when a businessman expresses a fear of flying. ...to keep from laughing when anxious parents say they're afraid to send their kids off to summer camp. ...to keep from ridiculing someone who complains about hot weather. ...to control his frustration when a colleague gripes about his coffee being cold. ...to remain calm when his daughter complains about having to walk the dog. ...to be civil to people who complain about their jobs. ...to just walk away when someone says they only get two weeks of vacation a year. ...to be forgiving when someone says how hard it is to have a new baby in the house. The only thing harder than being a Soldier... IS LOVING ONE!!! Please try to keep things in your life in the proper perspective and when you meet one of our returning soldiers, treat them with compassion and tolerance. Thank You! |

Oh Thank you So Much Prophetic Servant
for coming by and for your sweet words
I am soo sorry for you & your Family's tragic losses
all the many Deaths of Dear Family & Good Friends you have withstood
& So devastating in the relatively few years you have been here on Earth, My Dear
I'm sorry, i forgot your actual name
but I just love you so much my Sister
and my Noble Adopted Daughter Truly
You are just soo awesome & right on God Bless you
& Thank you again for being here & for sharing these precious gems
For we civilians especially all need to raise our awareness
and always be conscience & contemplative of where our Freedoms actually come from
& be Ever thankful & Always appreciative
for Our United States Military Those Brave Top Notch Courageous Souls
who stand between us and the vicious enemy day and night
and it is because of Them Alone that our Freedom is made possible
Thank You I can't shake every hand. I can't put flowers on every grave. I can't console every family member. But I can say thank you. You have given me the freedom I enjoy today. Your blood was shed in place of mine. Your family grieved so mine could rejoice. All I can say is thank you. There are not words big enough. There is not a hug strong enough. There is not a smile wide enough. All I can offer is thank you. You are my hero. You are in my thoughts. You are in my prayers. For all you've done, thank you. Lily Michaels

Thank You Troops A question sir I pray to ask Whatever enticed you to this task? Here you are so far from home Unfamiliar lands you're forced to roam The sod beneath your feet is wet with the blood of comrades sweet perils and hardships grip you on every side from tears and guns you can not hide Daily when facing the foe you never know will this breath be my last? Please sir, why such a difficult task? “Good things my lad are hard to attain and freedom son comes with a stain This life I entered young and brave now I'm old and headed for the grave. But regret never will I tis' reward enough to see our flag fly A plea I have for all remember those who heeded the call See the flag up yonder? That's why I was willing to wander.“ the tears are flowing down my cheeks I try but I can not speak A message now I'll write or I shan't sleep tonight. A debt of thanks to you I owe and I long to tell you so. May heaven bless you each and every day Guide and protect you all the way. By Jenny Gane |

http://www.usa-patriotism.com/poems/gp/we_fought.htm We’ll Defeat Terrorism As It Should Be Fought
America, the abundant, the place I was born I'll cherish till the day I die. Where the bones of past heroes lie buried in the ground Who loved her the same as I. Her mountains are so tall they reach for the sky With prairies where the green grasses grow. There's billions of trees where wild birds nest With creatures that flourish below. That blue gold called water with which we are blessed As raindrops or crystallized snow Changes to rivers and fresh water lakes While the winds of our seasons blow. There's the haunt of a whistle from a lonely freight train Racing on ribbons of steel With the harvest of farms and from the factories Balanced in a box on a wheel. Some cities have buildings a hundred stories tall Structures of concrete, glass and steel. A statue in a harbor, a present from France Describes how inside, we feel. That flag on the moon with red and white stripes Proves America’s dreams come true. A country of heroes who line up to protect The past, the present and the few. We’ll defeat terrorism as it should be fought Never letting Satan’s horde chase us to our door. Safeguarding our borders and system of life As our forefathers sacrificed before. Never be afraid to be proud of America And march with the brave, faithful and just. Refusing to submit to the will of our enemies Standing firm to preserve what we trust. By Tom Zart
