In my mind polygamy today is mostly about ownership and control. It makes the man feel powerful and puts the women in a role of servitude beneath him. Seems like a pretty crappy thing to me.
I'm sure there are some alternate relationships that practice polygamy as more of an 'open marriage' type of thing, but when I think of polygamy I'm thinking of the religious based polygamy. |

I didn't realize the OP was female. I guess its alright for her to have less time with the man that has comitted his life to her. I plan on focussing all my time with one woman. Eileen deserves nothing less. The OP was just curious about the subject matter b/c she lives in Utah... I had thought they outlawed it in Utah but maybe I'm remembering it incorrectly... I forget things sometimes, like the time I forgot to poke holes in Kim's cabana boy crate..  
it is illegal. in order to join the union...they had to abolish polygamy. but there are certain sects, cultures, ideologies that still practice (kinda on the hush hush) Ok that's kind of what I thought, I didn't know it was to join the union though... good bit of info there... i have enough trouble keeping one happy why compound the issue with more.i really don't think you can share the same feelings with multiple partners .i like the togetherness of a building relationship the sharing of times and events together you just don't have that closness with multiples..that is presuming you want a close tie to a partner.. 
Right...how could you not have favorites? Do you have favorite kids? Do you favor one and despise the other? Stupid argument used by those who have never thought this through. i haven't any kids..so that goes out the window. but i do see where you're trying to take this.. |

Yes... but he is also offending women with his opinion. He expresses that laws NOT allowing polygamy is the cause of Divorce and Broken families. No...it is people that cause divorce and broken families. Its not the religion it the person. There is always going to be divorce. No matter what the religion. He nor another man can guarantee me that I will be happy forever. That isnt realistic. Just because he has three wives (just assuming) does not mean that they will NOT leave him. His way of life does NOT guarantee that he will not get divorced. But should government really have the say here? It isn't hurting anyone so why should the Government have a say? They alreadt have to much say in how we live our lives.. AND THIS IS A FREE COUNTRY?????

Yes a free country but it still not acceptable to pee in public. I don't see any connection at all. both indecent exposure and a health risk to others. lets use some reasoning here. And I still say that you are cute as hell!!! 
I do not at all agree with polygamy, but I think that- if someone else does.. it is in no way harming me or any one else. If that is their choice.. more power to them. I don't think that Government should have any say it the matter. Just like I don't think that Gov, should be running an automotive company and banks. re: the bailouts. But I do think that the Gov, should be enforcing the laws already on the books to keep the Companies from scams and unfair dealings. Such as The retirement fundings being stolen from those that have worked their entire lives for a good retirement just to have it stolen. |
