I woke up today and opened my yahoo.com and saw this...

Ex-NFL star shot, killed

Former quarterback Steve McNair, 36, is found with a fatal gunshot wound in Nashville. » One other victim

that made my mouth drop

my heart almost melted in a way. I felt bad. I felt like his passing would mean I would be missing someone in life.....

However I did not feel those positive sentiments when Michael Jackson passed - Farrah Fawcett or Billy May shot up in the news that they had passed.

The question for you guys is why Steve McNair affected me more than those three(3)?

Cause you live that gangster lifestyle....and you never know when the same thing could happen to you while your rollin' down in the hood.

As long as you stay near the main drag. Get a few blocks away from the tourist attractions and it's not so safe.

I think it's also the visibility factor. Before MJ's death, I hadn't heard anything about him in years, even longer for Farrah but McNair, I saw him on pros vs joes like a week ago so I'm still taken aback by it. At least he won't have to live a slow debilitating and painful life, his NFL career really did a number on his body. I saw an interview with him few years ago and at the time he was saying his back hurt so bad all the time he had to sleep sitting up. The Man was a warrior.

for me, anyone from hollywoodland seems larger than life, almost like they only exist on the screen or stage. they are somewhat surreal to me. but mcnair, just a guy who played great football and having played for the raven's for a short part of his career, it was much more personal to me. i was very saddened by this tragic news.

I just think its sad that everyone dies in bunches...and we can't ALL appreciate their lives and what they did for us as individuals

The reason for my post was to say this....

Billy you're a jerk (I would use a different word if Mingle would allow) and you need to start respecting people more because you didnt really care what people thought about Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett or the cleaner guy. And BOOOOM. Steve McNair dies - someone whom you have watched play football with your mother - father and brother. Someone who played football in Tennessee the state you moved to. Someone who was shot and killed at a young age like yourself. Someone who you can relate yourself to (which is what I think Mayhem was trying to say just he didn't do it with the right words) and you need to stop being so cruel to people who view things different than you do.

Ya know?
