McMinnville woman pleads guilty to dragging dog with car
09:55 AM PDT on Sunday, June 21, 2009 By ASSOCIATED PRESS McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- A McMinnville woman has pleaded guilty to animal abuse after she dragged a small dog on a leash behind her car as punishment. McMinnville police responding to several 911 calls found 67-year-old Ida Grace Mauser dragging the dog behind her car. Witnesses said the car was not speeding, but it was traveling fast enough that the dog was unable to stay on its feet all the time. Police Capt. Dennis Marks said the dog belonged to another member of Mauser's family. He identified it as a Lhasa Apso that suffered damaged pads on its feet and appeared to have sore legs. A judge warned Mauser to never do it again. (geeze what kind of punshment is that. a warning to never do it again ![]() ![]() |

some folks don't need punishment; a warning will suffice.
when i screw up, that's generally all i need...someone telling me "hey, don't do that again". she's 67, would you rather that they lock her up and throw away the key? maybe she's not all there...maybe she's never had so much as a ticket before. |
