Yes we got three channels MPT (Maryland Public Television), Channel 16, and Channel 47, which were ABC and CBS. At least we got MASH!!

Eight tracks could be played in a vehicle because you could not play your records except for at home. Glad you find the thread interesting.

8 track tape
it had four tracks (stereo =8) and would always go "k-chunk" in the middle of the song as it changed tracks 
|

and all three TV channels would go off the air at midnight nd you would see this on your TV all night
