Topic: An itch to scratch | |

When I lived in Florida, we had some property out in the woods...sat on the ground wearing Spandex...BIG mistake! Had a terminal case of the red ass... The only thing I could find that they wouldn't penetrate was surplus cammo pants that I got from the Army/Navy store...sexy!

I agree with using clear nail polish, works great because it sufficates them. Tea Tree Oil is awesome for mosquito bites, ant bites even spider bites, I use it all the time. My seven year old son has his own bottle of tea tree oil and uses it when he gets bitten.

The chiggerrid and chiggerex haven't helped. The rid stuff burns like crazy because of the ammonia, and the other stuff didn't stop the itch, though it didn't burn.
Didn't know about the bleach, that's definately something to remember. The back side of the property and about 20 acres total is treed. Good for us, the critters, but bugs, aside from the chiggers, are a pain. |

the fingernail polish generally works in a day,, it kills them,, it might still itch,, but it wont be anywhere near as bad as it was. you will notice the redness going away and it swelling going down.

Vinegar on a rag keeps chiggers off your ass.
