Ever been on monster or other job search places?
So...you fill out a giant application and then add more and more details...taking hours...(I just timed myself, 3hrs) and upload your resume. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. And then you begin to search for a job. You find something..and click on the thing And then the stupid job provider wants you to fill out an entirely new form, upload your resume, complete a quiz or questionaire forms (some 30 or more questions) create a login and offers his own job search website. And I'm talking about applying for a whole lot of 1 fecking job! Just what are they thinking?? If I would spend all that time on every single job I want to apply for, I would be growing a grey beard already! And then, on the end they won't even hire you? I feel like I want to get paid for filling out the darn application, it feels like an unpaid JOB itself just to search for jobs!! ![]() ![]() |

Been there, done that...
(you are probably gonna hear a lot of that) Good Luck! ![]() |

Been there, done that... (you are probably gonna hear a lot of that) Good Luck! ![]() I've been applying to jobs for 2 years now...trust me I know...I gave up a while ago, being tired of not getting anything and applying for 4-5 jobs a day. and no results but rejection. |

I hear you...I have filled out so many forms, uploaded so many resumes...written countless cover letters... it is very frustrating...yet, if I can get a job, I don't care how many questions I have to answer or how many forms I have to fill out!! I just want a job!! |

I was in the same place you are now. I must have applied for 75-100 jobs, with NO ONE hiring me. The internet has never been a good place to find a job, too impersonal and we're all just a bunch of colorless, lifeless people.
Give me an honest face to face encounter with good eye contact, give me 30 minutes of your time, actually read my resume, and they'll hire me on the spot!! I feel your frustration Atlantis, hope you find something soon! ![]() |

I'm gonna be honest..I never had a real job, since i was in college until 2004, and afterwards, I had to get something to pay the bills, so i worked with a guy on construction. While doing that i was doing my applications, but so far, I'm still doing what i was doing since 2004, and it's pretty much living paycheck to paycheck. |

And I'm on monster and careerbuilder and they're useless i got all possible job searching online thingies I could find Carrierbuilder Monster Yahoo jobs government jobs policejobs + local hospitals, companies, staffing agencies I'm getting emails from all those, setup with their job search email function thingie...so yeah I get 20 emails a day and so far carrierbuilder was the kindest to offer a one-click apply option, but with even that..I'm still where I've been. |

In best Clinton voice..."i feel your pain" I have been going through the same thing. Craigslist also has job listings. I think monster is the worst..it's like going to a temp agency..you fill out an app, provide a nice cover letter..and then you go through it all again. The thing is, in south Ga. where i am, you're lucky to even find anyone hiring. Even minimum wage jobs are hard to get. I'm a class 2 non-restricted Electrician, I have 30 years under my belt and have held a masters license for fifteen years. There are no jobs without relocating. So i guess we will either move, or keep filling out those stupid forms, and perhaps wait for a doomed economy to rebound. |

All jobs are "real" no matter if they are full time or not! We do what we have to, to survive and fortunately or unfortunately with this economy most people are living paycheck to paycheck. If I knew the economy was going down hill, I never would have moved here to Ohio from Long Island. I would have stayed where I knew I was getting a decent paycheck. Keep your spirits up, and keep plugging away! You'll be fine ![]() |

Just be careful of the pyramid scheme ones. I've been hit with a lot of those. The personality quizzes tend to be an answer how you think they want. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being very good - do you like people? Really now, why is anyone going to say they absolutely don't like people?? |

While I've been looking for jobs, sometime during April, I begun to widen my search beyond all the way to European countries. But they are complaining too, they are in the same boat like the Americans, some places even worse...anyway...
LOL.. I even emailed Barack Hussein Obama and the White House for work! |

i got laid off in march and haven't even started seriously looking. i do know that i don't want to go back into the IT field, especially management...just not feeling that any more. so i'm 'evaluating' my options, so to speak, and probably looking at a major life change cuz i'm not going to be making the same $$ unless i go back into IT management. i'm thinking the time has come to downsize, kids are out or getting close to being on their own and the beach is sounding mighty nice!
