I think I am right in believing the way I do but need some one else's opinion.... please guide me through this..

it would make family gatherings uncomfortable

Some states allow for relationships with second-cousins. In fact, Franklin D. Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor were second cousins when they married, or at least that's what I was told.
However, having relations with cousins of any sort is usually discouraged for any number of reasons. |

yes I think it probaly should not be something you think about or do There are many men in this world you can find someone outside your family to be involved with

I feel it is not ok but I just need reassurance trust what you believe. I found out later (after breaking up with an ex) that he has sex with a 2nd cousin. it didn't go over well with the family |

so the man you are seeing has feelings for his 2nd cousin?
|
|
|
|
He has confessed that he has always had a crush on her since he was 16 and yes.. they live in different states but admitted to me that they have been flirting and want to plan a get a way together this summer..

Not good.

I'd end the relationship. He's expressed feelings for another woman I'd stop wasting my time with a man that didn't want to commit. If he's wanting to explore his feelings for another woman he must not be committed to you

We are suppose to be friends with benefits and that hasnt worked in our favor cuz its more but still no commitment.. and the other woman I would be ok with but HIS COUSIN!!!!

My cousins (step) had crushes on me when we were younger but that is just not right even worse with real blood cousins.. Of course that's how royalty used to keep the blood pure... People used to believe in the cousin thing but I think that went away with well mental, physical and biological issues in the offspring...
oh and did I mention "fricken ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww" |

Exactly and he was raised in a very very religious family.. I said to him are you gonna ever be able to tell your brother bout this and he agreed NOOOOOO!!! WTF!!??

Genetically speaking there is no reason not to breed with even a first cousin. For thousands of years humans didn't have any other options. We lived on groups of only about 50 people. Everyone was related.
The practice of not allowing cousins to marry was an attempt by the church to stop the ruling calsses from consolidating wealth. |
