I couldn't give a rats ass what the last guy I dated thought, should he see it.

should i (or anyone reading it) depend completely on the few written words or pic(s) to decide; if i want to respond to you? if you're 'the one'? or to stay as far away as possible? now flip 'you'/'your' with 'my'/'my' genuinely curious sure! what the hell? i say meet people. people are fun and interesting. just like in college - except different. no guarantees. but y'know? keeps it fresh! |

depend completely? heck no, i would say...hardly at all. some people may have difficulty defining themselves with words, while others take extreme liberties. you don't begin to know someone until you talk and meet and you really don't know someone until you live with them. agreed! some have difficulty, many of us embellish/take liberties (how very true! lol). then there's the old 'theres how you see you, how others see you, and the way you are' Isn't that the point of getting to know each other on here, though? That way you'll find out more about what the person is like. it is the first point of contact, per say, but i've seen so many misleading profiles, or ones that have no information, that i've never used them to as a sole deciding factor. and i guess i'm just a forum freak, i think that's the only way to get a more honest snapshot into someone. Yes, I agree about the forums. He had said something about responding to someone based on their profile or an email, so I thought he was just talking about that. The best way to get to know people better is getting into the forums, though. gotcha. its the overall quick choices we tend to make here on the 'net that have me confused/interested. i've always been a 1-1 kind of guy, neither perfect or evil and i've always recognized that we all have different facets of personality that combine to make us who we are. in the real world i take the time to see that combination, to get to know the woman beyond the cleavage, behind the smile, past the carefully positioned stance, hair and makeup. is that possible in the fast world of the internet? yes, there are some terrific forums online. some though, degenerate into self- aggrandizing rants and mob scenes. do many true relationships come out of them? |

I couldn't give a rats ass what the last guy I dated thought, should he see it. the focus wasn't really on him or her but you may have a point there! |
