I have as yet to hear from him...I know he got there and I know right now he is safe...and I was expecting this for 2 years now...I just did not know how hard it was really gonna be The 1st couple of weeks he's gonna be really busy an the DI's are barely gonna give him time to breath. After a routine has been established they'll give them time to make phone calls an write letters home. In fact they will encourage it. I was told I will not hear his voice for 13 weeks Have no fear, U'll get a letter before too long. Keep in mind, he's missin u just as much as ur missin him. In the meantime show ur pride, go to ur local recruiter an get ya a "Proud Parent of a Soldier" bumper sticker, get a tshirt made that says "My son wears Combat Boots". U'd be surprised just how many people notice an will come up to u an tell u that they to have a child in the service also. where do you get these shirts from I'd go to a place that makes custom tshirts that way u could have his picture put on it. Any airbrush tshirt shop could do it for u. I plan on havin one done with my son's pic that says "Don't mess with me, I raised a soldier". I have that as my screen saver on my cell phone. LOL |

Send him a disposable camera, and a return envelope so he can mail it back to you. Tell him he needs to take all the pictures in one day, and get it back in the mail asap.
