Hi Group!
My 9 year old son's school asked me to write a poem about Paul Revere and after doing some research I decided to write a poem about William Dawes another rider that night that did not get the same credit as Paul Revere did. William Dawes "One if by land, Two if by sea." is known the world through as Paul Revere's plea. Yes, he became famous during that ride, where he spread the warning through the Countryside. What most still do not know is there was another rider in on the show. Yes, poor William Dawes helped in spreading the word. Yet praises to Paul Revere were all that was heard. My friends please listen because what I say is true. So, let us give William Dawes the credit he is due. |
