I am nice AND exciting! And you also look like my friend Connie. I thought you were her the first time I saw you in the forums so I just had to check out your profile. Its amazing because she could be your twin. And I'm dead serious WOW! Poor girl! |

It's a matter of context and interpretation. If you're talking about "nice," as in "considerate, understanding, giving," etc., then I don't think too many people would see it as a problem. Here's the problem: The "nice guy" threads we sometimes have here -- they often have a sort of melodramatic "woe is me!" tinge to them -- i.e., "I'm such a nice guy, why can't I get a date?" In this context, "Nice" equates to "whiny annoying loser." Not trying to cast aspersions on anyone, just clarifying. The search for someone "nice" is certainly a valid pursuit, albeit many of us prefer to use a different descriptive term. The "nice guy" threads, however, continue to be met with something very close to universal disdain. I think the idea is that "Nice Guy" is something other people are supposed to call a guy,not something a guy should call himself. It just seems kind of shady. Niceness is something a person shows and not just says about themselves That's true -- I see tons of profiles where someone makes a claim like "I'm a very sweet person," and it strikes me that this might be ONE interpretation -- but is by no means the only one, or the correct one. Self-assessments often aren't worth the paper they're printed on. |

By nice, I don't mean the self-described nice guy that really wishes he was sleeping with the women and is equally underhanded about it, only buying them gifts and s*cking up to them and whining.
For a nice person, male or female, I mean, someone who doesn't ask superficial questions on the first date about paycheck, salary, or if you're a guy, bra size, "When are we going to have sex," or having an ulterior motive. I mean a man or woman who you can truly talk to about anything, and you enjoy their company, and most people who know them say "He or she is a nice person." |

Like someone said so many people claim to be nice but when you get to know them they are not so nice at all
How people think they are God's Gift is beyond belief |

Some like them ,some don't.

I know for me a man that is rugged and sure of himself and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty are much more of a turn on than a pretty boy. Everyone on the internet is nice, has a great scense of humor, blah blah. I want a nice man but I don't want a whimp. Just me.

what about the average/kind of cute guy that isn't a pretty boy or hot or rugged, but isn't a feminine wimp either? and for the female equivalent, the girl that is the brainy beauty, doesn't have huge boobs and a big ass, but has a cute face and can hold a good conversation?

We are sometimes attracted to those who are not good for us. This applies to male and female. That explains why the nice guy did not get the women/girl on certain occasions. Or why the nice woman/girl doesn't win out against the hot sexy *****.
Men are more visual so they tend to pick a woman by looks which is to their own detriment alot of times. Women choose men based on how they make them feel when they are around them which is to their detriment alot of times. If we all used our heads/logic a bit more during the dating process I would think we would all have better luck in this department. There are also other issues too, like the challenge of the chase for both sexes. Just some of my observations. |

I think confidence is a very strong trait. Both sexes like that in a person don't they? Most beautiful people tend to only have that going for them as they don't have to develop any other skills but since most men are visual as long as the trophy is on their arm they are happy. Not all men.......but a lot of men. I don't need a trophy I just want a real man that can be kind and loving but that I can also respect and won't be a sap. And like someone else said nice does sometimes turn people off.

I may not be a " nice guy "....but I am definitely a GOOD MAN.
There is a big difference. |
