The pepper is great for all sorts of health benefits! The pepper you get at the store is rated at 35,000 HU(heat units), I ordered some from the Net that is rated at 90,000 HU(almost 3 times as hot/spicy)! You only need to take 1/4 tsp per day! I've been on it for about 3 weeks now. Here is a link to all the benefits:

I took and emptied my salt shaker, and replaced the salt with the pepper. Take care of 2 things at once...first, it gets me away from the salt, then the pepper that is sprinkled is good for my health. I thought that was a clever idea. drinker

I mix 1/2 tsp olive oil, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp basil and 1/4 tsp paprika together, let it sit for 15 minutes then rub it on a beef roast.
bake 350 degrees for 15 mins every lb for med rare.
mmmmmmmmmmmm the cayenne gives it a great taste.

This thread got me thinking. I went to the kitchen and added a couple of pinches of cayenne to a jar of pesto. Woke the flavors right up.
