Topic: At this age do you look for.. | |

Do you try to analize things from their past to see where they are going ?
I do realize it is our past. and this is the now and the future is unknown. But many of us are creatures of habit, and go for comfort of what we know, in place of changes in other directions. Do you look for patterns in yourself as well? |

I've been divorced once and widowed once and one was an electrician and the other in construction. My Dad was a mechanic and I sometimes wonder if I'm destined to be with the blue collar type. It would be interesting to see if I would be a match for a (retired) teacher, lawyer, businessman, etc. So, sure I see a pattern in my life.

I think we all, I know I do, tend to repeat the past. In the things we do, ie, hobbies and such. We are comfortable in things we know and understand.I know as far as men go, I've always been attracted to a certain type. Not always good for me, but I keep hoping to find that one that will break the mold,so to speak. But we like our comfort zones, what we are used to.

If you don't learn from your experiences, you will repeat your mistakes.
Learning is a choice, so do as you chose. I FINALLY learned to learn, just took about 40+ years. |

Some of the past describes mistakes .... but they were awfully fun mistakes.

I try to learn from mistakes. But, although I divorced my first husband, he was a good man, he just became obscessed with his work(law enforcement)and I couldn't deal with that..didn't have time for wife or family... lost my second husband, he was a teacher/coach/school administrator and a wonderful man...

Looking at my past has helped me learn what needed to be changed to be a happier person today. It's helpful to understand the past, just don't live there.

At my age I have become over analytical. While watching a commercial I tried to analyse with it logic. If dogs don't know that it is not bacon; then just what do they really know what it is? It is a given that we may think that they may think it is really is bacon but how can we really say that for sure? Maybe we really don't know dogs as well as we think we do. Could dogs be right and we are wrong? Can we really be sure what dogs know? How about cats? Do cats really know that it isn't bacon? Or do cats have a higher intelligence than dogs? For all we know it might really be bacon and we have just been misled by the media.

I have learned from my past, widowed now going on 7 yrs. Won't make the same mistakes, it ruins a relationship. So I now know what I want out of a partner, a relationship, and life. TO BE HAPPY!!!

I wonder what my dog and my cats are thinking and how do they think if they don't have a vocabulary? Do they care if I'm crying or think I'm nuts when I'm laughing? Or do they know what nuts/crazy even is? Trippy thoughts. |
