Topic: Seeing Spririt. | |
---|---|
Hello there everyone.
I thought I would ask someting that has been with me as long as I can remember, and I wanted to know if there is anyone else out there who my exprince it to. I can see spirits, now I don't mean that there is a group of dead dudes and dudets following me around twenty-four-seven, (I guess I did get a full douse of the sixth sense.) But I can still see things never the less. Ghosts, and Demons is all that I have seen so far, but I just want to know that I'm not that much of a freak. I was raised in a christian household and I even do still believe in God somewhat, but by the book (The bible of course.) I'm not spouse to be right in the head if I see this stuff. I've never admited to seeing things before. And I guess I somewhat wanted to come clean and see if there are others on this site who have to deal with the gift of extra sight. (Lame joke I know.) |

I keep trying, but so far no luck.
Have you actually communicated with a spirit? Have you done anything methodically to refine this skill? Have you invited or encouraged communication? Have you read anything on shamanic or psychic techniques. Some things I've learned from other people is that these abilities aren't always constant. A lot of people have various points in their life when they become more perceptive to these things and other times when they become unable to experience them at all. Also, have you noticed any particular times during the year when this happens more frequently? The reason I ask is that according to some folklores and traditions there are certain times during the year when the veil between the physical world and spiritual world becomes very thin. In hindsight I feel that there were times in my life when I was more highly attuned to the spiritual world, unfortunately at those times I wasn't specifically thinking about trying to communicate with spirits. More recently I have been studying and practicing these techniques but up to this point the 'doorways' have not been opened. I don't allow this to discourage me becasue all things pass, and perhaps there will be a time in the future when my psychic abilities will return. Finally, and this is simply to be complete. Have you considered the possibility of schizophrenia? That's a very genuine question. You might be tempted to say, "Oh no, what I saw was real and I know what I saw!". But that doesn't hold water because schizophrenia is also very real and does indeed manifest as real as real can be. The question I'd most be interested in is whether these spirits you see are attempting to communicate with you in any way, or are you just seeing them in passing going about their own business? If you feel that they are attempting to communicate with you, then you might want to check out a reputable psychic to help you make the connection. Or simply get some "How To" books and learn from those. On the other hand if you feel they are out to get you, then you might want to hire an excorcist. |

Well yes I've done almost everthing you have put down.
I have spoken to quite a few and I have been tested via brain scanes when I understood that possibilty, and the scanes have come back saying I'm normal, (Yeah right.) I really haven't looked into to trying to refine this "Skill" as you call it. It's there, I use it whenever. And yes I have encouraged them to talk to me, I've ran into a few that are scared of the fact that I can see them and then try to escape because as one put it, "We are scared of going to hell." But yes I have a friendship with one ghost that is around town, I talk with her, and try my best to see if there is a way I can help her pass on. I've read a little on shamanic, and I know alot about psychic powers, but I display nether so far atleast. This has always really been with me my whole life, I just always keept my mouth shut about it. I can't really say about the whole timeframe thing becuse I have never really paid atention to the idea. I do advise you to be careful if you do make contact I had my fair share of chiars, pots, and even a table once thrown at me. I also want to say that this may seem like some cool super power, but it's not. It does mess with your head and makes you feel not only crazed, but also like you are a wired-o. Thats just my take on it though. Thanks for the reply, I started to think I scared people off or something lol. |

That's quite interesting. I have no direct experience with these things myself. But I find them interesting and I've been reading up on spirits and studying shamanism. One book that I've been reading lately addresses spirits that are lost in the underworld and are confused and believe they are on their way to hell. In that book the woman helps these spirits though the aid of fairies to find their way to the astral plane. The Book is called "Forty Years with the Fairies", by Daphne Charters, if you're interested. |

I think more people see spirits then they realize. Blips out of the corner of your eye, movement that when you focus on it, isn't there. Children see them and many times "imaginary friends" are ghosts, spirits, entities, which we adults tend to downplay.
I tend to be alerted to them one the dogs meet and greet first. I only get the occassional dark one, and generally have no issues. |

Wow. not only is that complety off-subject, but it's also funny. That had to suck. Ha ha yes maybe I should explain this situation more For the last two months I have had some strange experiences such as a tiger sit in front of me after a show and put its paw on my shoulder and give me one huge lick (the trainer mentioned this never happened before), birds come to my hand and feed the bread I give it when usually they don't come close, squirrels come up my leg on my shoulder, dogs and cats get close, and so forth. It is if they have a sixth or seventh sense of somekind. The spiritual world or our soul could very well feel others in a way to know good or bad emotions of somekind Now I know this is strange or hard to believe for most but I am trying to figure out why animals in general are extremely nice to me lately. Could our soul or our spirit have somekind of vibrations or feelings we can't hone yet? If so then this could be the beginning of spiritual contact for some. Some say we once had for many thousands and thousands of years a sixth and seventh sense like animals do now to survive. Could this seventh sense be the spiritual communication many wonder about. Is it possible that some actually do have this ability? So yes when you mention you see spirits, demons, or of such unusual experiences then perhaps you have tapped into one of the additional senses we have long forgotten. So yes it is fascinating indeed Either we are delusional, superstitious, using imagination to often, or there is some truth out of this. That is something we are still trying to figure out. |

Very interesting, I like that idea.
One idea my friend has picthed at me before is that some part of my brain might be active when in most himans it's not. Because if I'm not mistaken we only use about ten percent anyways, who knows I might be using eleven. |

Not to try to be the stick in the mud as this is a matter with which I have some personal experience, but you do want to consider ALL of the options, and there is one such option which deals with an overactive brain that places things in your field of view to interact with. Remember that everything you see, hear, feel, etc. is routed through your senses and your brain. For more info read Descartes or Plato. So the first thing that you need to do is verify what you are seeing by a 3rd party. If you allow yourself the opportunity to be corrected then you can progress to whatever end you like. I.E. if you want to stop seeing them this can usually be accomplished, or if you wish to delve deeper into the matter this can be done as well, but you need to eliminate other possibilities first to find out what is going on.
You said you see one of these "beings" frequently. There are a couple of things that you might experiment with. If you can successfully communicate try to get a name/address/etc. from them and research to see if you can find them in obituaries and such, some kind of record of validation. Another thing would be to have a non-partisan draw a simple image of their own choice without showing you or hinting at what they will draw while alone in their house. Convince the "spirit" to enter the house and report back to you about the picture and then verify the result. These are simple tests that I use in witchcraft to verify claims of "supernatural" powers, but should work well in your case as well, and they work wonders. The things that you are speaking of are "powers" that we all have instinctually, but we "forget" about as we grow older and society convinces us of what to believe/see. As for having stuff thrown at you, probably evidence enough for you, but there are also other powers that the human mind possesses that may be going out of whack, so verify everything. Supernatural things are never quite as simple as some books would have you believe. Usually the author goes to writing before they have a real grasp of what is actually going on. This is just my two bits. I don't mean to preach and if you don't want to follow the prescribed plan I'll understand. Just felt like I might be able to help you understand what is happening to you so if you feel like it, try to two experiments above and let me know about the results. Blessings, Marty |

Hmmm... I have tried a few things like this before.
One time to win a bet with my friend to prove that I was psychic, (He is one person I did tell.) I had him stand in front of me with a deck of playing cards, I had the spirit that I speak with often -Her name is Alicia, she was born in 1876 died 1885) stand behind him and I told him all cards that he pulled from the deck. I won fifty bucks to so whoop! And I have done research on her to see if she is true it took me about six or so months to find out because things weren't that well keept back then. But ever thing checked out. Thank you for your suguesten though. It's nice to see helpful people out there like the ones who has posted here. |

Fascinating,
I'm always researching stuff like this so if you want to share your story in more detail send me a PM. Maybe I can answer some questions of yours too, who knows. 99% of the people I investigate are full of doodoo but your story seems genuine, which would make you a first. Would like to talk with you more about this and always love meeting people with interesting experiences, shoot me a line sometime. |

@Mario1108: I don't have time right now to post much, but will look in again soon. I've learned/taught various 'ways' and modalities, having been a natural seer all my life. I'd suggest that you're opening up to greater experience than 5-sensory, ie., you're realising your 6-sensory abilities. Nothing weird about it, and it's actually great fun and deeply moving when you really connect. Anyway, more later.

One point I think worth mentioning is our perspective of time and eternity. We tend to perceive time within the context of our lifetime (although we do of course imagine past and future times). In this context, something like 6-sensory experience which comes and goes may seem odd, ie., if it comes, shouldn't it then be permanent? Well, it is, but we have to look at it from an eternal perspective.
If you imagine yourself as an eternal being (obviously, not the physical body) then your past and future experience are so vast as to be unimaginable. Place this lifetime into that context, and abilities coming and going are much like concentrating on your shoes; sometimes you do, a lot of the time you don't. Whatever we focus our awareness on becomes more obvious, a bit like the kids game of 'spot the car' on a long journey. Look for white cars, and suddenly you start to see huge numbers of white cars. One of the problems modern life and the scientific perspective have caused is the viewpoint that any skill can be logically and systematically developed. This is true for a lot of things, but beyond the boundaries of this physical universe the same laws don't apply. Something a helper of mine once said to me is that clarity comes not by looking deeper or further afield, but by simply removing that which stops you seeing clearly in the first place. This is very true of 'extrasensory gifts'. We all have these abilities, and they're part of our true nature. What we've been conditioned to believe in this life gives rise to concerns and fears about such things, so we often limit our true view of reality. In other words, our own perspective on the universe is a brick wall we've built around us to protect our fragile sense of what's real and what isn't. Mental disease was mentioned too, and having worked in that field I've seen some very interesting things. Some people 'haunted and taunted' by beings who just like to mess with others - nothing new. Others who went from screaming madness to calmness and 'normality' simply due to a change of diet; things in certain foods messed up their brain chemistry. I'd suggest it's always sensible to check various options, but if there's nothing medically wrong then choose another avenue from psycho-pharmaceuticals. Eastern traditions have continued to pass on knowledge and experience which has been 'cleaned out' in Western society due to fear. Everything overlaps, but I'd suggest trying Kiko/Chigung to learn about your own subtle energy body (ie., the real you), and something like Reiki for going further into working with others. Some psychics are perceptive and helpful, but if they don't understand the energies behind things, then they're just relying on visions and appearances. A good start for those with little or no experience of such things - in this lifetime at least - is The Celestine Prophesy by James Redfield. His writing and storytelling aren't the best in the world, but the concepts and events in the book are real enough to millions of people. Fear of something tells us that we're not ready to deal with it yet. Fear also allows those who play on fear to goad us further, and that goes for physical as well as non-physical beings. Being open and loving, however, causes the good to want to be closer to you, especially those who are further down the road and can offer advice and teaching. It also bores the pants off those playing mind games, so that they eventually leave you alone. People in this world have forgotten what they know - a natural part of the birth process - and have to remember as they go through life. Some remember very quickly as their main purpose is to help others remember. Those who remember little or nothing, and don't want to, are on a slower journey, perhaps just enjoying all the physical world has to offer before taking tentative steps into the eternal. Whatever stage we're at, it's all fascinating, from how grass grows to how those we call loving angelic beings slip from universe to universe with casual ease. I don't know if this is a great help, and if it seems a bit non-specific, that's because I try not to push people into seeing things one way or another. Your perspective on everything is just that, and to grow you have to gently change it yourself, usually by letting go of what you think you know, rather than trying oh so hard to learn more. The animal thing mentioned is a good pointer too (though I long ago found that all animals aren't psychic and clued-up as people say). When you're more in tune with the meta-physical, many animals can sense it, and even feel the good energy you're giving off. Sometimes they'll show you that directly, like the tiger and others did with Smiless. That, too, comes and goes with our moods and energy changes though. If we're living in this world there are reasons for us being here, and I've found that relaxing and letting our true nature reveal itself is the best way. The Zen/Chan traditions have, sadly, become just institutions in various ways, but masters in past centuries gave very sound advice. Have a Google and see; their teachings speak to the eternal part of us, beyond the struggling of the rational mind. |

Buy a cat and see how it responds to your "guests." You'd be surprised what some animals are capable of.
Reiki healing? I'm a level 1. How far along are you? The first initiation felt a little weird to me and my instructor told me that she had never had quite that reaction before.
