nothing pulls a song together like a virtuous guitar solo. whether its a glorious, harmonic-laden metal face-melter or the never ending allman brothers-esque jam solos... they are one in the same. ill post a few... and if you dont believe me, check em out for yourself on youtube! in flames - satelites and astronauts in flames - another day in quicksand metallica - one van halen - eruption

Stairway to Heaven.... very original. come on old man, lets hear some of your music savy opinions. You didn't say there was a need to be original. Obvious or not, the end of Stairway is a great solo. Hmmm, you want something a little more esoteric perhaps?? Let me think on it awhile.

There isnt very much acoustic hendrix out there, most of the stuff which is supposedly acoustic is played on electric guitar without any effects. Never heard Catfish Blues acoustic, are you sure you arent thinking of 'hear my train a coming'?
