The closest I got to Portland was when I had to drive to Mt. Hood in Oregon. Man... I'll never do THAT again!

No to both counts. It was for work- a British production company was filming a re-enactment show about some battle in Afghanistan, and we were doing some pyro-related stuff there. The whole job was a fiasco from the word "go". A TOTAL fiasco. Mentally and physically draining beyond reasonable levels. But I DID get to drive the route Jack Nicholson took to get to the Overlook Hotel in the opening credits of "The Shining", though!
