laughin at polarity. just be you ...don't send out no homo vibe if i'm just me, dudes get pissed. i talk really fast and make a lot of references to discipline specific stuff. i think they interpret it as me trying to sound smart. the sad thing is, i can't express what i'm trying to say without them. this ends up being a problem with girls too, but with them i can change the topic to their lives or opinions. if i do that with a guy, he's going to wonder why i'm asking all that crap. What do you mean by "discipline specific stuff"??? |

Shields... you'll probably avoid an ass kicking if you refrain from holding hands and tongue mingling... Dude... you are way over thinking this... lol its ****ed up, but logical solutions to problems are the only way i can handle anything - human relationships included. i know that's messed up, but it's the best i can do right now. the alternative is to become one of those isolated wacko douchebags that is extremely smart and extremely useless to other people. i'm worried that without friendships, i'll lose any ability to predict what helps other people and what hurts them. that is the failure of those like Bill Gates. he gave up making friends and chose to use logic without humanity. the effects of that are more profound today than i am capable of typing at this moment. point is, i need to keep trying to stay in friendly contact with other people. if i get lost in my work, i will lose sight of the entire point of being like this - which is to solve a problem healthy, happy people cannot (law, time, money, family, and better choices stop them). errr.... rant. my bad. troll |

troll jedi scum. mabye you are not acquainted with the term "troll"...no worries...but your using fighting words....and there is no need to be harsh...i just call em as i see em..... i'm not sure how the terms are currently defined, or what that word means to you, so i'll just say what i am: i'm a person asking odd, specific questions to other people on a webforum. i'm not here to make friends or enemies. i'm here to help me understand what i'm doing wrong so i can change it. i don't know what's relevent, so i just give all the info at once. in any event, thank you to the people that mentioned the team sports for older guys @church, gyms, etc. I intend to look into that. |

How do you become friends with another dude without him thinking you want to plant the pink pole of... um.... ok no more metaphors today. I can ask a girl on a date easily, but how do you say "hey bro let's go fishing together and drink beer." that seems like mission goddamn impossible for me. Men make friends when they play on sports teams. That's one place. I always thought guys on sports teams just had to be atleast a little gay. Why else would they want to hang out w/ a bunch of sweaty guys? |

Do you like to bowl? If so, call a bowling alley and see what teams they have there.

Why else would they want to hang out w/ a bunch of sweaty guys? Ummm...because they like to be active and play sports. There's nothing gay about it all. It's a good way to stay in shape and stay healthy. Exercise relieves stress too. My Dad was on a baseball team. I remember going to the games. My grandfather was on a bowling team most of his life. Many of my friends play on co-ed volleyball teams. It's harder to make friends when you get out of school. Sports are just one more way to make friends. |

If you join in the community here(or anywhere) you just make friends with people naturally, and beers and fishing can take place. If you are comfortable enough with your own sexuality there is no reason to feel at any point you are doing anything gay because you are talking to a man. There are gay people here too and you can talk to them as well without them or anyone thinking anything of it. Should you care if people are judging you for it anyway? As for real life it goes the same, pretty much. You cant just go say hi to a bloke in a bar the same way, but if you are around people you will meet people. |

I added this to the post: It's harder to make friends when you get out of school. Sports are just one more way to make friends. |

I need to stop trying to anticipate events with other people. It drives my brain nuts thinking of what implications a person with xxx birthplace and xxx birthyear and xxx race might take from a statement i make. it is hard to stop thinking, or at least stop thinking about what other people are thinking. |
