so yea try eating more carbs. also try smoothies and put extra icecream in it but you eating well. but lost alot of weight within the week.. what the heck have you been doing.. maybe it might be a good idea to contact your doc. there could be something else going on |

I have the same problem. You really have to stack up your calories to see an increase. I was on a 4000+ calorie diet and working out and only managed to gain about 15 lbs in 6 months. Also when you work out you need to avoid all areobic exercise if at all possible. And you shouldn't be doing any more than 10-12 reps per set. That being said the last 2 reps should be nearly impossible for you to do. You have to go as heavy as you can possibly handle. It works, I just got tired of it and went back to a normal life.

Yeah that's a bit of help. Lets me know that there are weight gain drinks out there that are less than 2000+ calories per serving, though I could probably still burn through it...in my sleep, but still don't think I quite need calories by the thousands in one drink Could you send me your DNA caused I want some of that? Nah, you don't want my DNA. It could possiblty turn you into an extreme drug addict who can't find a mate to save your life. Though I have signed up for rehab and quit my drugs. And you do already smoke pot, which is fine, but you don't want the rest of my bad BAD habits I've had. I have the same problem. You really have to stack up your calories to see an increase. It works, I just got tired of it and went back to a normal life. I'm kinda hesitiant to start working out again because it usually results in me losing weight. I do get stronger, but lighter. But maybe I should do like you say and avoid the aerobic part. And yeah, 3 sets of 10-12 is usually how I do it. but you eating well. but lost alot of weight within the week.. what the heck have you been doing.. maybe it might be a good idea to contact your doc. there could be something else going on Nah, gaining or losing 10 pounds a week is nothing out of the ordinary for me. I just know I was just over 140 at the beginning of last week, and just over 130 yesterday. And today, just checked it - 135.4. Go figure. I weigh myself almost daily. My weight can fluctuate 5 pounds a day, even if I do eat pretty well. So thanx guys. I will try the increased carb thing. And I have been wanting to start working out if I can ever find a gym buddy. So I'll give that a shot too. Yeah, I'm pretty thin but fortunately not one of those guys who's nothing but skin and bone. I do have some natural muscle tone and don't have to work out to maintain it, but if I do start, I'll be a hottie having to beat the women off with a stick. |

enjoy it while you can when you turn 30 it will all change Yeah, they told me when I turn 18 it will all change, then it was 21, then it was 25. I'm close enough to 30 now and still weigh about the same as I did when I was 15, no more than 15 pounds heavier on a good day. But thanks for the encouragement. Maybe you'll be right if I go ahead and get into the habits of those increased carbs and weight gain shakes. |

muscle mass adds weight. muscle is heavier than fat
I was 165 until I turned 30. But then I enlisted on my 30th birthday and I think boot camp changed my metabolism |

quiet is on the right track...muscle weighs more so more lifting and add more protein than carbs. Protein shakes should help

My ex husband had a similar problem - the man couldn't gain weight to save his life. He started on a weight gain diet, however, and it did work. I dug into my favorites archive and had a couple of links, hope they help.
