When I was in school only so many students were chosen to learn a second language now they start them in kindergarten. It's easy to learn when young, but I found it very difficult to try and learn at this age. |

I can speak a few languages but I find it easier to read the language than speaking and following the conversation. I know all the important german swear words!!!

I understand Gypsy. Its marketing, the more more languages on a lable, the less they have to spend on packaging. And, yes, we have to integrate launguages into our schools. But, English is the main language here. Heck! Even the Russians learn English before trying for a job!

I tried taking classes in both Spanish and Italian. Found it very difficult, and the professors said that the older you are the more difficult it is for languages.

How many different types of French are there? I know when taking Spanish the professor would say this is how it is said in Spain, and this is how it is said in Mexico. He even told us that he spoke Mexican Spanish not Spain Spanish.

When you have to deal with the language at work, you can learn pretty good. Ten plus years working the family farm, I learned "White Trash" and a little "Spanish".
