So, TxsGal...do you have any info on Joe Pool Lake? How's the camping? Are they strict on partying?

not sure but can find out matter of fact my bosses parent's have a place on Joe Pool Lake at one time his family owned that land before it became Joe Pool lake yeah another man made lake as wellbigsmile

I was tempted to spell it Joe Ool Lake...at least there wouldn't be any "P" in it! laugh

Lol I hear ya but.............. now the party lake is at Eagle Mountain Lake Party city there they have over nite tie ups and all there you would love it. It is a great lake for all activates they have a couple of bars and restaurants you can actually dock at and go party ect. It is on the NW side of Fort Worth between Lake Worth ( which I don't go to) and Azle.bigsmile

When my Jet Ski was working use to hit that place every weekend have a nephew that has his boat there and that is where my little sister parties all summer with her friends think this year I'm gonna join the crowd.

Hands down....Jersey shore. Never go in the water off Jersey!!!!!!

I actually went in on the Jersey shore. Something about a full moon that night but I got literally COVERED with thousands of little baby octupi. IN my shorts, crack-o-my ass, etc. Pretty freaky. I went on the nude beach there too..F beach I think...and regretted that. No Brazilian, suntanned beauties there. Just bached whales...naked too. brrrrrrrr Gettin a chill thinking about it. laugh

Hmmm...Baby octopi? Sounds...suction cuppy...

I used to go swimming down at the Gator Hole in Kissimmee, Fl...(MOST lakes in Florida have at least ONE gator in it...*shrug*) My G/F, her husband & I were cooling off one sweltering day... She was asking me about snakes...I replied "Aww, they're more scared of us than we are of them." Just then...about 3ft from us, a lil head pops up...she said "T! LOOK!" & then *bloop!* the head goes back underwater... Frank was sitting in an inner tube...Mary pushes off of him & he goes spinning off into the center of the lake...Mary is CLIMBING OVER ME..using me for traction...my boobs come flying out of my top as I'm trying to scamper up the bank...turns out it was only a turtle...& Frank is spinning around & around saying "What the hell is going on?"...

I don't like swimming in small lakes.

I got bit in the butt by a fish once in a small lake sad : D So I've been kind of traumatized since then.

i hate to swim. no, really...

eh, i do enjoy doing laps in an olypmic-sized pool...the exercise is low impact and i don't have to worry about hitting the freaking wall.

i wear contacts, so a small pool is a pain in the rear for me. if i take out the contacts, i get ill; if i don't, i mess them and my eyes up.

Now that better weather is on the way...who out there likes to go swimming? Are there some bodies of water that you refuse to go into?

I would not swim in the Perfume River in Viet Nam, not because of the body of water, because of the bodies in the water.

I prefer to swim in a pool, the lane lines keep me going straight; I actually have a water-proof MP3 player and try to swim at least twice a week.

I don't like swimming in the Puget Sound - it's too cold.

Seriously, I'm a lifeguard and lifeguard instructor, and I used to run a public swimming pool. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I didn't swim.

I went camping in Edna last year (about half way between Houston and Victoria). I had planned to go swimming in the nice big lake but there was a sign that said "Danger. Swim at your own risk. Flesh eating bacteria."

Now I really don't understand why anyone would swim in a lake with flesh eating bacteria or the purpose of the stupid sign. Seems like the sign would say "Don't swim in this lake or you will die!!!" The lake is also full of gators but they don't seem to bother anyone.
