Whatever your beliefs in the case of a Omnipotent god or goddess if they really wanted people to follow there teachings y not have an immortal messenger instead of profits that just write down everything?
And if there was an immortal messenger would you take what he/she said seriously or just ignore it? |

Whatever your beliefs in the case of a Omnipotent god or goddess if they really wanted people to follow there teachings y not have an immortal messenger instead of profits that just write down everything? And if there was an immortal messenger would you take what he/she said seriously or just ignore it? In all honesty, in this day and age how many people do you know WOULD believe if there were an immortal messenger or even a mortal messenger? More than likely that person would end up locked up somewhere and labeled as a lunatic for hearing the voice of the Divine. The basis of most religions is faith, faith in the teachings, faith in that if you cooperate with All That Is you will benefit in some way, and faith that your prayers will be answered. I don't need a messenger coming down and tapping me on the head, my Goddess does that aplenty all on Her own lol |

Besides, then people would start worshipping the messenger as a diety even if it is only a messenger. People have made humans into dieties with their worship throughout religious history (Isis, Jesus, several others whose names I can't think of right now) Mythology tends to forget that these were humans first. Just think what people would do to an immortal who is physically here and alive forever.

And if there was an immortal messenger would you take what he/she said seriously or just ignore it? I don't believe in deities (or doctines) that claim to be teachings of a specific Godhead. I'm thoroughly convinced that all such doctrines are the unscruplous attempts of men to use the concept of a God to spread bigotry and hatred toward anyone who refuses to accept their writings as the 'word of God'. If an Omnipontent supreme being wanted to communicate with humanity it wouldn't be limited by such restrictions as using mortal men to speak for it. Thus any and all such doctrines are necessarily fraudulent. They simply cannot be the word of an Omnipotent superme being. Such a being would not be so limited and feeble. So don't fall for the words of any men who claim to speak for God. |

I think that every religion has a small part of the truth. However, most people don't realize that a truly religious experience has less to do with the outwardly organized religion than it has to do with our own inner spirituality. We each see and relate to diety in a different way, and that's fine. When it becomes wrong is when someone says that everyone should see the same aspect of God/dess. Then it becomes a control issue, not a belief.

curious that we speak of religion as though it were tangible.religions have a life cycle just as humans do.thank god, godess, supreme being, etc.in the beggining they offer an open forum for seekers,an exchange of ideas.then comes the ideaolagy and dogma that restricts its followers and breings its death.history verifies this.few people will follow a religion that is uncomfortable.why do you suppose the christians stopped the practice of circumcision (ouch),they needed converts!in my opinion there is only one sin independent of circumstance,to allow another person to take charge of your spiritual growth.thank god we have television evangelists or all would be lost lol lol lol lol...peace
