Now that I have been on Mingle 2 for a while I am getting to understand the mindset of a lot of people and there is a abundance of viewpoint.

Now I admit openly that I have a very draconian streak and do not see humanity in a very favorable but very objective viewpoint. For as gifted as humans are with capacities actually Godlike in some aspect and yet utterly tragic and self destructive on others.

We all share our viewpoints in the forums and I have gotten my feet pretty wet here in the swimming pool of opinion. Some posts of the more serious nature have a gambit of personality and belief with ideas and thoughts rationally and irrationally presented and God knows I have had my moments of irrationality but does this semi-cynicism make me come off as utterly heartless?

I'm curious to see what others think. I do have my own answer to this question but I am just bored and curious to see what people say.

The things I do for fun huh????spock

we'd have to see examples of your previous actions, posts or temperament before we can begin to judge whether or not you are heartless.

judging by the post so far you seem to be cynical or jaded and possibly confused about the difference between being objective and being jaded and cynical. the idea that you made up your mind of an answer may suggest that you're either closed-minded or opinionated. however your vested interest in others ideas shows that you value others thoughts and ideas. the rough aspects of life may have hardened your heart but it's still there. drinker

Actually I would say not any more then the rest of us does at times. Sometimes we get wrapped up within the questions and the events at the time we forget that there are those that are more tender hearted at times and words are powerful and at times they come across different then they were intended to.

it depends on what the subject is, whether you are heartless. everyone, and i mean every existing creature is heartless toward something. we shall grow to be less heartless as time goes by. what i mean by this, is that toleration has a threshhold with certain things. some hate everything, while some may just hate child molesters, others yet may be hateful to something else. it's good to work at hating less, and understanding and loving more, but sometimes it can be more personal and prejudiced toward direct pain. therefore, you then have a challenge to conquer, or to sink into....your choice, heartless, maybe, but we all have threshholds, no matter how godly or gods themselves. gods, people, gravity, and electricity, all have free will, but can be controlled, and in most cases, can control themselves, so you have an indirect fact to brew with your own questions and answers and the hypotheses you arrive at.

I think we have to be a little cynical, it keeps us safe and happy, if everyone walked around loving each other it would be just to damn boring.

I think life teaches us to be heartless, we start out innocent, but quickly learn the world is a very cruel place, and unless we play along we are going to get pushed around and hurt.
