Topic: what's the strangest thing... | |

Oops I may have violated in my last post. Lets try this again. I found a fly in my egg and cheese sandwich at a well known Irish food chain. I don't know why that particular time I lifted the top part of the muffin but I did. I showed the manager and simply wanted an exchange.I was polite. Guess what? He got mad and threw it across the room. Lots of witnesses. Guess they don't teach tact at M-D U.

I found a stainless steel screw in my ice cream at a steak place in San Diego. Told the manager and he found that it came from the ice cream maker. Luckily it was very clean (as was the entire restaurant every time I went there).
I didn't bite down on it or anything, so no damage was done, but I did get that dinner for free (the ticket was easily $150 because there were 4 of us) and 3 - $50 gift certificates for my troubles. And every time I went in the manager personally waited on me. |

I've done time in S. Louisiana so I have seen a host of foreign objects/materials in my food. It's the ones I didn't see that worried me though. To this day, I don't eat anything with sauce, gravy, etc. lol Thus my slim build.
I guess the strangest was the foot of a mouse in some corn. I guess it was a mouse/rat. I've had insects in the vegetables literally hundreds of times. After a while, you just pick it out (some didn't bother) and keep on eating. |

Pieces of green plastic in a pizza... A fly that had gotten caught in the lip of my opened beer...I always check before I take a sip of anything now... |

How about stuff that gets left out? Zig Zag Rolling tobacco with no papers inside. Hey we only had enough money to get a cheap fix! The smoke shop wouldn't give me any papers saying it wasn't their fault. Zig Zag sent me a coupon for 2 dollars off my next Zig Zag purchase. Talk about cheap!! We had to kill eachother and mug the neighbor for a cigarette that day.

I've never gotten anything nearly as yucky as these, but a lady that I used to work with was standing in line at a sports stadium concession stand and the guy in front of her bit into his hotdog to find most of a worm hanging out of the bitten end. This was years ago, and I think they have changed food safety regs since. However, I am VERY picky about hotdogs because of this and similar stories. I'm not Jewish, but I Very much prefer to buy Kosher hotdogs and lunch meat.

I once found a worm floating on the bottom of a botle of tequila I bought in Tijuana, Mexico. I had paid top dollar for it too. How disgusting...
Since then, I stick to Canadian Crown Royal whiskey. No critters swimming in those bottles. |

I found a piece of glass in a meatball sub from a local pizza place.
When I was a kid, I found an ant in Lucky Charms. |

Hair in pizza toppings, and a fly in a bottle of SunKist soda when I was around 12. Never drank that stuff since. I hate to think of what I have eaten and didn't know of! YIKES

A wasp, alive, in a bottle of beer, I opened it went to take a drink and before I knew it my bottom lip was the size of Angelina Jolie's. Moral of the story: Getting bit on the lips by a wasp on a beer buzz is a much cheaper alternative to expensive botox treatment. |
