Some staff at internship that wanted to tell me that I wouldn't get anywhere with a PhD and that I would only be able to get a job with a MSW. So it was addressed to the 'hater' at internship. (burn out, uncompassionate social work) I hope that clears it up for you!

Most likely, they meant that PhD's in Social Work do a lot of teaching and research work, while DSWs tend to also teach and work in Administrative or Policy Areas. MSWs or LCSWs, to my understanding, do most of the "hands-on" Clinical Social Work, or Psychotherapy. Is that what they meant, do you think?

I am going to get my PhD in public policy. She is aware of this. She is just a mean hateful person, who isn't happy with herself. ohwell

I don't want to get my PhD in social work. I am aware that MSW is a terminal degree in social work for practice.

She is the type of person that has to find fault in everything and put others down. Pretty sad for someone in the social work field!
