Aggreed..no Offense meant, however, I still think being cheated on can be a very horrible thing.

But then again ,if it was illegal, I guess now a days more then half of the people in the world would be in jail. |

I think it should be harder to get divorced than it is to get married. I don't agree Jill.. When I went to get a divorce in NJ they said and I quote "The state feels the went through a lot to get you married, therefore they are not going to just let you get divorced"... OK sooooooooooooo I'm thinking.. "the state didn't pay for my blood tests, certificates, wedding or reception.. just wtf did the state do to help me that is soooooooooo much that they feel they have a say in my divorce?" The reality is we should THINK HARDER and longer before we get married and take responsibility for the divorce and no one else should be involved or have a say... |

Once upon a time it was punishable by criminal prosecution but thanks to groups like the ACLU and others guess what? Enforcement??? And in CA it is not grounds for divorce or redistribution of property. Why? If I say liberals someone is going to get all huffy so I will say representatives of the state.
Now granted I would love to say conservatives in this too but they actually preach the values. ...too bad they also are the ones cheating or sneaking around in the Velvet underground which isn't so underground any more. I guess they can't admit to a little desire to play golf on the back nine of some dainty sweet young thing that happens to bring his own putter to the game. Both political sides of the fence n me... Family always gets caught in the middle ground torn between values and popularity. |

Do you not think that it would deter more people though? I mean, this world is already all about money. So what we say is err... you can cheat, really you get nothing done, becuase most people who cheat are already willing to lose thier families, not very good parents or people in general, but if I cant have your support money then, its ok you just go free?

The bottom line is that both marriage AND divorce are VERY serious life-changing decisions to make. It's not like deciding whether or not you want the Big-Mac combo at Mickey-D's- as such, they shouldn't be made lightly, which is what a lot of people unfortunately do nowadays.
I personally think that both marriages AND divorces should be made much more difficult to get as a result- that way, people'll have had to really think about whether or not they actually wanna go through with their decisions. |

If society norms didn't dictate that a "good girl" got married b/c of mistakes, I wouldn't have gotten married... Love wasn't the reason, doing the proper thing was the reason for me... |

NONE of us are so innocent or ignorant that we haven't learned from our past and if we are then well hell we don't deserve any better...

I guess your right, so all of us good people get screwed over again :( True, but when it happens it can come out of no where. And steal your life and you have no choice but to accept what that person has done to you and move on, so one day you can have what you think is a great family, and the next day your file is completely different. It pains me to see that people can get away with this but you can go to jail for stealing a chocolate bar. |

I agree these life lessons can allow you to grow, or better yet should I say, FORCE you to grow. But does the person that did the cheating grow from it? |
