Is anybody else having problems with Windows Live messenger not connecting? I have been trying for the last 2 hours.

I gave up on windows programs years ago. Bad enough I use XP.. but I do have 2 other operating systems I could choose from. just don't bother with any of them. LOL thinking of getting rid of internet and the idiot box.

Seemed a little slow to load, but it's working.

One of my clients had an issue with it. My first thought was FIREWALL but that wasn't the issue. In their cas it was the registry key listed below and I deleted it AS A LAST RESORT...and it worked. I have also heard that there is an issue with Live Messenger and McAffee Site Advisor 2009. Try the tips here: http://messenger-support.spaces.live.com/default.aspx?sa=885808980 If that won't fix it and you've eliminated your (or Windows Security Center) firewall then go START>RUN>regedit and delete the following registry key. You can back it up first if that makes you nervous but it won't hurt you. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\Policies One of these solutions will fix you up. I'd bet on deletng the content cache as it describes...if it was working before.

Works here in Canada sweetie! Well if the Canadians can get it to work it must be something the OP is doing wrong, ha ha! Some of the coolest and most intelligent people I know are Canadians. Canada rocks! Its just cold.

Mine wasn't work either until I found out from the WINDOWS LIVE TEAM that I needed to uninstall a specific "Toolbar" that was causing the problem...Works fine now
