Topic: Little Things | |
---|---|
The one janitor that works in my office, he comes around in the afternoon and empties the staff's waste baskets. I have made it a point to say thank you. And around christmas time, I had out candy canes and I offered to him when he came around. Now he makes it a point to say hi, even if I am busy and ask how I am. I think this is important sometimes to remember.
It is the little things... saying thank you, waiting a few more seconds to hold open a door or offering to help your neighbor with some heavy packages. As you go through the day and beyond, I hope you think about this and do just one little thing a day. I know that it will make your day better! |

Your a cutie
With a good heart Wish ya were my neighbor |

You know I completely agree with you... and yet when I watch other people I see less and less thinking of others.
It's corny but true sometimes a smile really does go a long way |

My best friend gave me the best advice
He said each days a gift and not a given right Leave no stone unturned Leave your fears behind And try to take the path less traveled by That first step you take is the longest stride If today was your last day If tomorrow was too late Could you say goodbye to yesterday Would you live each moment like your last Leave old pictures in the past Donate every dime you have If today was your last day Going against the grain should be a way of life What's worth the price is always worth the fight Every second counts cause there's no second try So live it like you're never living twice Don't take the free ride in your whole life If today was your last day If tomorrow was too late Could you say goodbye to yesterday Would you live each moment like your last Leave old pictures in the past Donate every dime you have And would you call old friends you never see Reminisce old memories Would you forgive your enemies And would you find that one your dreaming of Swear up and down to god above That you'll finally fall in love If today was your last day If today was your last day Would you make your mark On ending a broken heart You know it's never too late To shoot for the stars Regardless of who you are So do whatever it takes Cause you can't rewind A moment in this life Let nothing stand in your way Cause the hands of time Are never on your side If today was your last day If tomorrow was too late Could you say goodbye to yesterday Would you live each moment like your last Leave old pictures in the past Donate every dime you have And would you call old friends you never see Reminisce old memories Would you forgive your enemies And would you find that one your dreaming of Swear up and down to god above That you'll finally fall in love If today was your last day |

U are very sweet Tanya. As much as I do not want to accept the startling realization & bitter truth within the lyrics of"New Wild West"by Jewel,it is sadly what our society has become.Personally;I feel the same way as U in regards to kindness within everyday life, not some show & tell function or tokens received of lofty praise.I refuse to ever deviate from the path & knowledge that my Grandfather instilled into me.These so called small things truly matter in life.In thee end...only kindness matters. It is a blessing knowing U Tanya.Godspeed!Cy"Steven";)

It doesn't cost you a penny to say please or thank you.

It doesn't cost you a penny to say please or thank you. And yet you're still too fkn mean to do it! |
|

If you treat others as you would like to be treated... it really does make a difference in the long term.

It doesn't cost you a penny to say please or thank you. And yet you're still too fkn mean to do it! How i talked to you doesnt reflect how i talk to normal people. |

It doesn't cost you a penny to say please or thank you. And yet you're still too fkn mean to do it! How i talked to you doesnt reflect how i talk to normal people. Now now, boys! Take it outside! And no it doesn't cost anything to say 'please', 'thank you' or 'you're welcome' nor does it cost anything to smile or be nice! |

If you treat others as you would like to be treated... it really does make a difference in the long term. That it does! What you put out in the world is what you will get back! |

I totally agree, Tanya!
I heard a story on the news today. There is a janitor position open in Perry Township school systems (Ohio) and there were over 800 applicants. That is the job market for you. But to have a job and appreciate others around you and in your work.... that is how things should be. |

People always compliment me on how well behaved and mannered my children are by saying please, thank you, holding doors for others, helping to put groceries in older people or handicapped cars and such. It is the way that I raised them. To be productive citizens and to have compassion for mankind.

It is the way that I raised them. To be productive citizens and to have compassion for mankind. If definately does affect our children how we act also! My son has been saying please and thank you willingly since he was two. Now, he holds doors open for people, even though the door weighs more than he does! |
