Do people you work with ever just really get under your skin? and what do you do about it? This was a damn silly question on my part, I know the darn answer, but today I got myself into some trouble and am trying to figure a way out..not bad trouble, just put my foot in my mouth. |

Of course it depends on the person, but usually once you've stuck your foot in your mouth (I'm assuming you have offended the offending party) they will pretty much leave you alone, or at least tone their behaviour down. I try to avoid letting it get to this point, but if it does, it actually gets calmer for a while.

Kill 'em with kindness.

Mostly I just don't care anymore.

Remember the old saying "keep your friends close and your enemies closer?" There are a couple of people at work that I know would and will stab me in the back without a moment's hesitation. I just stay aware of this fact and kill them with kindness. It knocks the wind out of their sails and doesn't give them ammunition.
If I slip up and do something wrong, I just apologize, and then try to let it go. Not much you can do other than that. |
