This is interesting!!!!
Libertarians eye opening But sensing public alienation from both major parties, third-party activists are trying to exploit the opening. On Tuesday, voters’ willingness to back a third-party candidate will be put to the test as Jim Gilchrist, founder of the Minuteman Project which patrols the Arizona border to deter illegal immigrants, runs as the candidate of the American Independent Party against Republican John Campbell and three other candidates in a special election in California’s 48th congressional district. |

Interesting to say the least, but I am still a bit fuzzy about where
they stand on major issues. |

I have voted libertarian many times...I like the idea of a very small
government...let the states have their power back |
|
|
|
garden...think it would be safe to say libertarians view issues somewhat
like this.. abortion..not the governments place to say education...no fed interference..give it to the states.. weapons..the constitution says yes foreign policy..a standing army for the protection OF OUR SHORES..only immigration...lock down the border..it is illegal think you would find libertarians closer to old republican ideals... makes Bush look like a liberal in comparison |

Davinci thanks for the clarification, it's getting so you can't tell the
players without a score card. I have to say I agree with some of their views. Both major political parties in their efforts to be all things to all people seem to be drifting away from the core group that is their main support. I keep looking at the list of candidates from both sides and asking myself is this the best we have. |

I would not want to have a completely Libertarian approach to government
in the USA - but both the Democrats and the Republicans have gone -so far- away from these libertarian values, i think we need to reign them (Republocrats) back in. |
