Ham, Prime rib, homemade macaroni/cheese, green bean casserole, corn, redskin mashed potatoes w/sour cream/chives/garlic, rolls, deviled eggs, cherry pie, cheesecake, strawberry pretzel salad.
I'm gonna be busy! Was it the broccoli salad with bacon and raisins? That IS yummy, I used to make that all the time. |

Easter meal in my family is cold food. We have amish roots. And Sunday is no cook day. So its Ham with pineapples and cherries. cold salads such as tater and marcaori. Pickeled eggs ( beets)
Cole slaws and usally a lemon pie. ONCE I made hot foods it was not like an Easter meal. |

In absence of better suggestions for a veggie side dish, I think I'll have to go with it....hehe. |

You could make green beans, which is easy but a crowd pleaser. fresh green beans 1 lb of bacon 1 jar of pearl onions place your cleaned green beans in a pot of water and allow to boil slice the bacon into small bits and brown cook until the beans are still firm but not crunchy, and drain some of the water off. add the bacon and a couple tablespoons of the fat into the pot then add the onions and the juice from the onions, and allow to simmer for about 15 minutes. |

My mom always made ham. I don't like ham. Turkey or steak works.

Both sound yummy! |

For the broccoli salad....you can use green onion or red. Raisins or grapes. The one I tasted didn't have sunflower seeds in it and the sauce wasn't mayonnaise based, but I can't locate a recipe with a sweet sauce that doesn't have mayo in it.
* 1 head fresh broccoli, cut into bite size pieces * 1/2 cup raisins * 1/4 cup red onion, chopped * 2 tablespoons white sugar * 3 tablespoons white wine vinegar * 1 cup mayonnaise * 1 cup sunflower seeds * 10 slices bacon DIRECTIONS 1. Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Crumble and set aside. 2. In a salad bowl, toss together broccoli, raisins and red onions. In a separate bowl, whisk together the white sugar, vinegar and mayonnaise. Pour over broccoli mixture and toss to coat. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. 3. Before serving, sprinkle with sunflower seeds and crumbled bacon. Toss and serve. |
