Only If
Only if you listen, In the dark, in the still. When the breezes bending, And the stars spotlight the hill. How quiet should we be, As we watch the fading bleed? Of the days ending, The cloudy gray retreat? Perceiving as we yield, To the truth that bares no shame, Founded in the passing years, Or youth that wants no blame, I will see and I must listen. Though seasons change once more, A little bit of beauty, As sadness we abhor. No longer is the quiet. The wind just blows away, Any joy that was then, Seeds falling on hard clay. Raine Les 4/9/2009 |
