Topic: Any stargazers? | |
---|---|
I've had a telescope for about six months now and have yet to use it. I
know very little about them. It sure would be nice to have someone to go stargazing with. I might join a local group. Anyone here have experience with telescopes? Peeping Toms don't count. hehe |

I like to look at the stars but only do it with the naked eye.

That's also nice. Did you ever notice stars are different colors? |

Sheila, they are lots of fun -- I was amazed the first time I looked at
the moon through a telescope -- the clarity of the craters, the shadows -- there are books with excellent star charts so you can find different constellations relatively easily. |

I set mine up briefly the first night I got it.
The moon kept moving. LOL. |

Well, that wasn't very nice of them, was it? We have a Planetarium and two observatories. There is at least one local group of stargazers. I kinda wanted one-on-one instruction, though...know what I mean, Vern? |

when i was a kid, i had a pretty expensive one...and i adored that
sucker. used it alllll the time... one day, my mother invited her sister and all of her brats to come over, cause she had some clothing to give her. i showed my cousin my treasure, and then locked it up before leaving for a bit. when i returned, it was gone...and they said it must have been stolen off of my balcony, or something. ten years later, i found it at their house...in horrible shape. everything was loose and ruined... |

Looking through a telescope into the universe proves how really small we
are. |
