I'm starting to believe that college is nothing more than a sophisticated term for "brainwashing"...

I am a freshman in college. Having said that, I am there to get a job, ( I hope.) I am not there to find a partner. And If I did it wouldnt be based on if the guy was also college educated. It would be based on if he treats me well and if he isnt abusive or isnt an adictive personality, (Drugs or alcohol.) To say that college folks look down on non college folks is wrong. JMO I just hope I dont get Stupid by going to school. I pray that I will keep my common sense and remember where I was in life before college.

I have always been in college; I can't seem to get enough, but I've never dated anyone that went to college.

I am open to meeting either type of guy. His higher educational goals - or not - has litte influence on whether I would date/marry him.

If he carries himself well, has ambition, and develops himself (in one way or another), that is good enough for me! flowerforyou

I tired to go to college, I had a extra tough time because I asked for help and wasn't getting it.. the only real help I was about to get was when I was leaving.. then that's when they where ready to put every thing out on a table to help me. Go figure, I mean if it takes a college to come to a better understanding when some one ask's for help and is up front about needing some extra help or might need some before even bothering entering into that school, it would only seem to me they would do whatever they could instead of making it more tougher on the new guy / girl etc.

Yes I will admit I am a bit of a slow learer.. however this doesn't make me stupid, just because I suck at math and sure I'll admit I am not too great of a spell but who the hell is ?.. really not every body is the perfect speller in the whole wide world etc.

My only learning disability is being a bit more then slower type of learner, but I shouldn't be outcasted because of it. No I did not put this in my profile because if any body really want's to know me better they can ask questions etc, to better get to know me and what not.

Does going to college make some one better vs some one who hasn't etc, no I don't think it does. I have seen people that have become millionairs and some millionairs even do not have a college deagree etc.

Botton line discounting people with any type of learning disability is like discounting some one of a different color of skin, it's not right at all etc.

Oh and yeah.. I am still looking into going to college as soon as I can get some things in my life turned around. But hey it's never too late to go back to school, as long you got the will and the power.. your half way there.

One last thing.. college may not be for everybody, but that shouldn't stop some one from dating that person just because they didn't go to college or they tired and it wasn't for them etc.

The only person I ever loved was getting kicked out of highschool for failing. She wasn't stupid, she was free-spirited, and I could always have a good conversation without feeling that she was uneducated. I was college bound, and have always been thought of as a "smart" person. If you think the absence of a college degree, a damn piece of paper, would ever stop me from loving someone like her you are dead wrong.

^^ Sorry but I totally agree with this :P

a college degree amounts to a piece of paper, and nothing more.

sure - some of us had to work to get it
others picked a slack major and squeaked by with no effort

furthermore - some of us paid for their college (ugh)
others had 'daddy' pay for it. heck - maybe 'daddy' paid for a new library and junior walked away with the planet's easiest masters degree

i've never considered a noticeable difference between people with and without a degree.

Absolutely! I'm college educated. That makes me the best! No way someone with a mere high school education will do for me. We know we're too good to settle for less.

Ah, who am I kidding?

I am of the belief that college educated people do not marry, (for the most part) non college people, even though they work just as hard or harder. People of college feel just because they went and you didn't they somehow are better than you..Do most of you agree with me?

I have two degrees and am going to be graduating with my Master's degree in May. I have never felt better than anyone else. My last two boyfriend's never went to college.

This is just another sweeping generalization. I've never treated others like I'm better than them because I went to college.
