Hello everyone,

My name is Martin, and I have adult ADD. I was trying to find other women to talk to and possibly date, who also share my curse. I feel it's very hard for someone without ADD to truly understand one who has it, because there are so many things the person with ADD will say or do that don't make sense to a normal person. Like how I can get half way through a project and just give up on it. A number of times, I can't even finish a thought without switching to another one. Call it the wheel of misfortune if you will, spinning around in your mind. Where it stops and starts up again nobody knows. Sometimes, I can be really focused on thing and won't let it go.

I'm 49 years old and wasn't diagnosed with ADD until I was 30. Although, I'm sure I've had ADD most of my life. As a kid, I can remember not being able to focus much in elementary school, because classes were so boring back then.
Over the years, my ability to focus and learn new things hasn't gotten much better. I'm was somewhat of a loaner and didn't have many friends to study with in school. I have less friends today than when I was in school. My problems with ADD just seem to get worse, the older I got. About the same time I was diagnosed with ADD, I started showing signs of depression. At some point, I developed the bad habits of procrastination and perfectionism.

I used be a very organized person, until my marriage went down hill. Now I find myself being bombarded by all the information my wife used to deal with. Some of the simplest things in life can really be overwhelming with ADD. Even when I force myself to figure things out on my own, it seems like I always hit a dead end and can't find any support. Trying to find information online makes me crazy sometimes.

I thought it would nice if there was a dating site for people with ADD, but I couldn't find any. If anyone would like to contact me, feel free to email me .

Thanks for any help.

Martin

Martin,
Are you on your meds for ADD and depression? I deal with children in the middle school ages with ADD and ADHD and they often miss doses of meds which throws them off. My sister has ADD very bad! She is also Bi-Polar which adds to the mess of it all.
