From experience I would say at least 6 months for a major serious relationship that lasted at least a couple of years.

I guess we recover in our own ways.
My BRT is about a week or so. It's all inside. I don't let it out until I come to terms with it. Only thing is that with me, break up means permanently. That makes it alot easier to deal with. Thoughts of getting back together don't screw my head up. |

I'm sorry.. Here's a hug....
My breakup was very gradual... a couple of years, till it just happened. And it was instantaneous relief, for me. |

.. I break up with my self every day and get back together with my self. .. since I never been in a relationship as I've said so many times before and now.. I guess I don't feel a dang thing.
So my recovery time is well.. Priceless. |

It must be 14 months for me

It took me a couple of months. The problem was that the ex still wanted to be friends, which I was cool with at first.
Unfortunately, as time progressed, I realized that it probably wasn't the best thing to do, so I stopped all communication soon after. |

I can hear it now.
"But... We were on a break" |

i don't think there is a set time frame. it's a grieving process and we all do it in our own time. i wish you the very best though

It depends on a lot of things. I would say the fastest I ever was all better was about 2 days. I cried...screamed and cussed for about a day and a half then called up a good friends and within a few hours after that I was totally better. But not every break up was anywhere near as easily as that one.

All depends on how much I cared. Some short break up times (a few days) some very long break up times (many months).

He just wants you to be his back up plan later? let's put it this way......he didn't bother to call me and tell me this.....he sent me an email......he read up on bipolar disorder sunday night (after i called to try to talk to him to calm down after i had a bad argument with a former friend of mine and didn't handle it well) and apparently he got scared as hell....... it upset me mainly because he did the same d@mn sh!t my ex-fiancee diid.....not have the balls to at least call me |

I once heard that it takes half the time to get over someone. I can't explain very well. I was with my ex for 3 years, so it should take me a year and a half to get over him.
