You don't have to take my word for it. Read the feedback reports for yourself. Everything doesn't work the same for everyone. Vonage has terrible feedback, yet some people I know have never, ever had any problems like I have. Perhaps they're just lucky? Maybe that's the same with magic jack. As for the person you responded to, it sounded like he's actually used it as well and didn't have issues. I'm using it, mainly because of the international long distance fees. I got relatives all across Europe. Just for that, it's worth it, i checked out the charts. Even better than Skype. It's either -40 bucks a month (regular phone line) + long distance charges (more expensive than Magickjack) -or 20 bucks a year + international fees (less expensive than anything else) You do the math. |

I'm a user. Anyone else on here use it? If so what's your experience? Right now I can't recieve or make calls. For the last two weeks I've only been able to make outgoing calls. They haven't been much help via email. And I can't call them since my phone won't let me dial out... kinda sucks right now. http://www.vonage.com/support.php?lid=nav_support Not sure if you tired to follow any of there steps they have under there support page which is the link above I give to you. But they have the answers right there. Funny.. thing is I hear people who have problems with vonage and others who do not. But any way's try checking your firewall and internet, maybe one of the two need's to be reset or change. My guess is your firewall, which I could be wrong. |

Despite the fact that I had nothing but problems, my co-worker who recommended it has had no problems with VOIP through Charter.

Sweet is right.........I am one of those that only had 1 issue with Vonage and they took care of it right away. Matter of fact the sent out a new box for free and even gave me a months service for free for my troubles my only suggestion is to unplug all the connections and reboot the computer and the router to see if that will help. sometimes it does |

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I've done every single thing that's been reccomended, using the vonage tech support on their website, and rebooted everything a million times. I finally got Vonage to send me a new adapter, but I will have to ship the old on back at my expense... if that makes any sense. If I continue to have problems I'll just drop them and go back to a land line again.

They did that for me. |
