Topic: how do u play games designed for windows 98 on windows xp?

just wondering if anyone could help me as i have windows xp but would like to play a game which was designed for windows 98 and when i try and load the game it just keeps failing to install, does anyone have any ideas how to help please?

Go to "Start, Programs, Accessories, Program Compatibility Wizard; from there you can launch an older ver application under your current OS in a protected mode. Just follow the prompts in the Wizard. Bob

If you have a desktop icon for the game right click on it and select 'properties.' Select "Forced Compatibility Mode" and select Windows 98. It also works if you click on programs, highlight the program and right click it again selecting 'properties.'

hi thanks alott for the advice guys but everytime i try it keeps crashing my computer and says not responding when it goes to load the game up, nut thanks anyway though.

is this a dos/msdos based game, or a windows based game?

yee i got new games 2 but i also like playing older football management games 2. but i like nba 2k9 and fifa 09 nd i wana play call of duty but aint bought it yet,

championship manager 01/02, i duno if its a dos game or what thou but u need direct x for it if thats what u mean or its made by eidos, i duno much about computers all i kno is it aint working lol

I found this forum for this game, with patches available http://www.champman0102.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=8 i would go for the official patch then the others
