I don't really have a traditional Easter Meal. My partents attended church when I was young and Mom always fixed whatever she wanted on Easter Sunday for dinner. So, when I grew up and married, I had no traditions to carry on. I have noticed thru the years, the Easter Hams being sold at every grocery store. And the Hot Cross Buns. But, what IS the traditional Easter Meal???? (besides easter eggs, peeps, chocolate bunnies)????????

Morning: Easter baskets and Easter breakfast

All day: keep a buffet table out with cakes and candy

Dinner: ham. Asparagus. Mashed potato. Corn. Dinner rolls

And I'm a Jew!

It all depends on if I am at my grandparents or at home with my son. But even if its just me and my son, I try to make some kind of meal, generally ham.

Since today is GOOD FRIDAY, I thought I'd revive this thread. I am sure there are others that carry on an Easter Dinner tradition.

Um... Ham is yummy but my tummy hates it. brokenheart

Anyone have any alternatives?

My son is with me this year and I'd love to hear suggestions. He doesn't like lasagne either....grumble

We have both ham and turkey for Easter. We also had ham and turkey at Christmas as well. My mom even did cream dried beef for Easter one year, still not sure why.

Mine consisted of a ham, seven layer salad, baked beans, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes and gravy and cherry cheese cake. It varies on who is coming over. I like to have at least one of everybodies favorites.

I carried on "The Tradiion" up until I had no one to cook for! ohwell

This Easter a friend and I drove over to the park/lake and grilled some chicken and had potato salad and baked beans and walnut cake, I didn't have to cook...or do dishes!

It was a very good day!

I took left over BBQ rub from a cookoff and made prime rib. It came out very good. I sauteed some bok choy in olive oil, garlic, and sechwan sauce for a side dish. I loaded some broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots with spicy Mrs. Dash and did another side and I made oatmeal-butter-honey bread in the machine. For dessert I made cinnamon rolls with cherry chocolate chunk ice cream.
