I was emailing here last evening, in the course of a very few sentences he had asked (twice) how much money I make, wanted to switch to a different chat site, asked for my email address AND PASSWORD. I almost ended chat at money question but wanted to see how far and fast he would go. I disconnected as soon as he asked for email and password. So this is just a reminder, mostly to other newbies, to be careful. Do not give out personal info to virtual strangers no matter how cute or nice they seem. Know first! Share later.

This info is all laid out in the rules section (or somewhere right up front, not sure footed on the site yet) but I wanted to share this because it really happened to me.

Sorry that happened to you. I don't give out my information to anyone.... especially the ones who send their phone number and private e-mail addy in the first contact. Those are high rollers, eh?

Oh, and as to money, tell'm all 99k a year, and say you're LONELY!!!

The IM feature is easy to disable. I've lived here without for two years. Quite nicely, I might add.

Good for you for using your smarts to see this for what it is. I have not encountered this problem yet, but I'm sure at some point in time everyone does. Thank you for reminding us all and for letting the new people know as well.
