man, I hope so. Gotta be done soon and the options are thin.

Have you tried this place out?
http://www.dominiumapartments.com/Messenger-Towers-Apartments/ From what little I saw of it, it seems to have apartment listings for seniors. |
yes we have a messenger towers but they have a waiting list also and mom isnt real fond of checking it out. They have no yard and she worries about being on a high floor and possibility of a fire.

Oh.
![]() There's also THIS link you could try as well- http://www.retirenet.com/location/communities/118-missouri/53-all-lifestyles?city=64801-joplin It's got listings for pretty all types of retirement housing options. Also, there's this link from the U.S. Housing and Urban Development site- http://www.hud.gov/apps/section8/results.cfm?city_name_text=Joplin&county_name_text=&zip_code=&property_name_text=&client_group_type=Elderly&bedroom_one=true&maxrec=20&state_code=MO&statename=Missouri |

thank you. I will save those and check them out. She has to have an apt tho. I dont want her in a room or home. She can take care of herself.
Of course. Assisted-living facilities and those kinds of places are not what I searched for.
They SHOULD be for senior apartments and apartment complexes. |

yanno, that girl who is starving herself on the other thread is nuts. She isnt fat!
I wouldn't call her "nuts".
She's clearly got some body-image issues, which isn't particularly safe at all. I just hope she has a friend or something who can help her shake out of all that malarkey. And no- she's not fat in the least. ![]() |

well Im not sure what all assisted living entails but she only gets 845 in social security so we have to be frugal in what we are looking for.
And yeah I feel that girls pain. I thought I was fat once also (well I was 20 lbs heavier) but she is going aabout it all wrong |

Okay, G'nite Liz.
![]() Before you go, though- Most apartments for seniors will get subsidies from state and local governments to assist with rent control and stuff. That means that the cost of rent to seniors are substantially discounted compared to what a normal apartment would cost. For example- the apartment I found for my mother (who's in her mid-sixties) was one such place. The state and feds help put up the bill for rent, which knocks her rent down substantially (to something like $225 a month). Of course, you mother would have to fill out paperwork as well as qualify for those services, but she should have no problem whatsoever meeting both the rent with her social security money. The most important thing is to ask around- you won't know what to do if you don't ask. ![]() |
