Topic: "LDR RELATIONSHIPS AND THE MOVE" | |
---|---|
Okay, so you meet the one some day. You both hit it off to the extreme
after taking time and really getting to know each other. You both feel like it is time for the next level. To be with each other on a full time basis. But........ they live in a differnt town or even 3-4 states away. What things should be considered on who moves where? And for what reasons? |
|
|
|
depends on a lot of situation ,
who has a house, who doesnt, what if you both do , who has family , or not, kids, parents, etc job situation, thats a hard one |
|
|
|
Well I would say, jobs are a huge issue in that department. I mean, if
someone has a job like a Teacher or a Doctor, they could go anywhere........But then again, if they have just a regular job working in a hardware store, I'm sure they could find something else easily in another town or state. On the other hand, you also have to consider where the best place to live is. Who owns a house, etc........Is one or the other happy living where they are? Would one of them be willing to move, if they really found true love? |

Ms Txs,, Again an Incredible Post,,,
Thier is so much to be considered in these Situations, Children, Family, Health, Property, Jobs, Picking up and moving involves Sacrificies of each ones lifestyle, This is not something that should be rushed or taken with a grain of salt, Communication is the Key word here in all aspects of the move, The Relationship should fully be explored before the decision is made,,,I do believe LDR Relationships can work, it takes time and True Commitment by both in order for the Union of Two Souls to fully give in order to make the Union Work, |

I fully agree with you all. It would be a hard one to do for those that
chose that path |

If it gets cold in the winter (cold "spells" are ok) and it's not at or
closer to the ocean from where I currently live, I'm not moving. Simple as that. |

WEll, in my case, I got lucky..
We are both semi-retired, and have nothing to tie us down. She is moving from California on the 28th of this months. After three months of chatting IMs, Web Cams, and a four day visit..We are going for the gusto!! |

HUMMM Txs that's a good one,
I believe that the one who has less to loose by the move kid's school, job placement and if you own or rent you know wouldn't like to leave my home just like that |

I misread "LDR" as "LDS," thinking it meant Mormons. Ooops!

Glad for you Bibby, and for her...WHOOOO HOOOO
And Miss Texs, this has been a thought and a desire of mine to try,,once, so YES it takes BOTH to work HARD on THAT THOUGHT and to really do their homework and to SEEK all the on line support they can get before setting into actions any real plans,,it is alot of displacement and confusion to anyone one trying to make it work. But if BOTH,,,work at it it BECOMES a plan and a MOVE!!! |

i know exactly what you mean.. just started a relationship with someone
who lives 5 hours from here .. after we spent a great weekend together.. only problem my 4 year olds dad and grandparents are a very big part of his life and i dont want to move him far away from them exspecially since money is tight for both sides.. getting him back and forth would be almost impossible.. am thinking bout moving around the dallas area though if things go as good as they are now.. because once my ex's grandparents sell their house they will be moving that direction to be closer to some other family members that live near there.. so i'm thinkin bout making a move half way to where he is.. and perhaps one day all the way .. but for now.. i'm spending 2 or more weeks this summer in oklahoma city |
