Normal doesn't exist. If it did, this world would be boring.
We are all unique in our own way

What one person sees as normal is not normal to the next. So guess what we see as normal is only within our own eyes.bigsmile

Normal is a word used by those that want to set the criteria for normal in a society of people. If you do not fit into their criteria you are considered abnormal... For most it would be a dishonest theif, liar, psychotic, schiziphrenic, murderer, etc. Now in a society filled with those people they would be normal and anyone honest, real, not crazy, non-murdering would be abnormal...

So basically anyone that tells you you're abnormal, you should tell them to pound sand and stick to their own little world of "their kind of normal people"...

What I meant was:

1. Dishonest, theif, liar, psychotic, schiziphrenic, murderer

or

2. Honest, real, not crazy, non-murdering

Which is more "normal" according to society today?

I would say still and always #2, I don't think it's changed just some people think they're always right and they try to push their beliefs on others.. i.e. bully others...

Fair enough, however, I would disagree. I would be more willing to opt for #1 as being more commonplace in today's society (more "normal", if you will).

Society defines and judges who is normal. Therein lies the problem and the Catch 22. Everyone is the arbiter of standards. We cannot have one person or a small group setting up a narrow definition. Who would this person or group be? How did they get to determine normalcy? Thus, if you go back to the premise of society defining standards there can be none that are set in stone.

Well, I'll give you there are a lot more people like that in the world today. Society seems to change with every generation and not always for the best... But I will still hold onto the fact that MOST people are good and they find #1 to be abnormal and sociopathic... You for instance are #2, I am #2 and pretty much everyone that's posted in here is from #2.

When I hear someone tell me they are "normal" I cringe inside.. I believe we have allowed Society to dictate what is normal. Since we all know how fickle Society is that will change about every 5 to 7 years.

To me someone normal is someone that has enough quirks, and inperfections, knows thyself well there is enough contradictions in them to make it fun to be around them. That to me is normal.

OF course I don't believe in Political correctness either.
