I had someone send pizza's to the house right after I got home from the hospital when I had my daughter. It was so nice not to have to worry about dinner and just focus on the baby and relax. Plus, family did not have to worry about making dinner.

Now, if someone I know has a baby or has been ill and has family looking after them, I try and send a couple of pizza's or some chinese food over so it is one less thing they have to worry about.

That's a sensible, tangible thing that someone can do to help out. flowerforyou

It's a little uncouth, but when my friends have had deaths in their family, I just show up with cigarettes (if they smoke) and pop or juice. I figure that's something they were probably going to have to run out to get anyhow. Saves them a trip and one less green bean casserole.

Next time I have an emergency, I am calling you!
