Topic: Ragtop convertables | |
---|---|
I have one and the top is starting to look pretty ragged. I can't afford the $1000+ to replace it nor the hundreds it would take to repair. Anybody have any suggestions of an affordable fix that I can do myself? The stitching on the trim around the windows is coming undone. Is there a product I can use that will fix this and with stand the weather? Duct tape is outta the question!
Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

There is absolutely nothing you can do other than replace it, it only gets worse, I had a ragtop for 7 years, I tried eveything!!

I've owned 2 used convertables so far...both came with a lil top damage... On the seams, I bought a matching HEAVY-DUTY type thread (from a craft store) & actually sewed it up myself, using a canvas needle. It ain't the greatest "fix" but I took my time & it came out looking presentable...what color is your top?

Yea...I had a black top (easier to match) & a tan top...how are your sewing skills? Has the headliner fallen down yet? If so...you can repair it from the inside with Gorilla Glue & then glue the headliner back on...it's a pain in the azz & really requires two people...but do it now while it's kinda' cool...it's a bummer to do in the summer...

Just get the new colorized versions |
