What are your thoughts? I have found at times my color is hindering my chances of meeting people in regards to dating sites. I have found that I can strike up a conversation with someone, but once they see a pic, I get a oh you are spanish or something to that extent. I have no preference when it comes to race or religion. I was wondering if other members have come across this problem.

I've never found any problem with it on these sites. Actually most of the girls that I have met via online are not Caucasian. Keep your head up because these types of things take awhile.

I agree, they do take time. I was just a little surprised by it. As an American I don't see color.

I think that there are far fewer issues with interracial dating than there were even 5 years ago, but I'm sure there are still those who do care about things like that. It may not even be because they have issue with it, but their family does, or other pressures are there *shrug*
The way you have to look at it is that if something as petty as skin color is an issue, you don't really want to bother with them anyway :) |

I like open dating sites, I have no preference when it comes to race, too many beautiful women to limit ones self!! ]Some people have issues with "culture" and religion and would not date someone from a different religious background to theirs ( I agree with this in some ways) but when it comes to "culture" I ask........... What IS culture, do we actually know or recognise our "cultures?" I so love Blue Mink's Melting Pot. |

Thats a great question Bonnie. A friend and I have talked about this numerous times. Is culture sharing a basic background? As in language, food, dress?? Even within our own nations, east to west, north to south, the culture does differ. Oversee's you love seeing another American.

I always date within the human race. I might be tempted by a cute alien, but only if I could drive his spaceship, lol |

Thats a great question Bonnie. A friend and I have talked about this numerous times. Is culture sharing a basic background? As in language, food, dress?? Even within our own nations, east to west, north to south, the culture does differ. Oversee's you love seeing another American. For some, the word culture refers to an appreciation of good literature, music, art, and food. For a biologist, it is likely to be a colony of bacteria or other microorganisms growing in a nutrient medium in a laboratory Petri dish. However, for anthropologists and other behavioral scientists, "culture" is the full range of learned human behavior patterns, but with globalization, the sharing of ideas and information leads to an interconnectedness and interaction between peoples from far-flung places has meant the line that once defined the boundaries of class and culture has been blurred, and as with any original formula, once watered down, cannot then be classed as "pure." In complex, diverse societies in which people have come from many different parts of the world, they often retain much of their original cultural traditions. As a result, they are likely to be part of an identifiable subculture in their new society. As the cultural differences between members of a subculture and the dominant national culture blur and eventually disappear, the subculture ceases to exist except as a group of people who claim a common ancestry. That said,I think we are so much better off for having such a varied and rich tapestry of integrated "cultures." |

I don't see racial, ethnic, religious, and cultural differences. However, I do distinguish between cool and fool.

We all have preferences. I don't judge people by their skin color, but I will admit there are certain features of certain races (I am talking looks here) that I prefer. I wouldn't worry about it.
